Has anyone played in a holden scramble event?

yep. used to be normal scramble format. newer knockout format blows IMO.

Having never played it I'm told its been done to even up the comp ....

i'm under the impression that's what handicaps are for.

blows firstly because when i go to the course i like to play golf, not sit there and watch my teammates. being the better player in my team means i will be watching a lot.

secondly it brings back bad memories of the day we were competing on a course with decent roll out and i was just annihilating my drives; flat out murdering them i was. so i got to watch my partners absolutely butcher nearly all the approaches following several drives over 320m. they stunk it up real bad. i would have been hitting nothing more than 6i into all of the par 5s. one would have been a gap wedge. i'm still trying to get over it to this day!

Loved it.. drove 90 mins to the course. 12pm shotgun start. Course declared unplayable at 11am

reminds me toxic. a few days ago i drove an hour to my course. went to the range, hit balls for an hour. 5 mins of putting. grabbed lunch from the clubhouse. went home

Was a t Corowa and a small rain band swept thru from 7am till 10am dumped a lazy 35mm of rain over the course and the greens were a wash.
I hit one ball down the 10th fairway, nice drawing 3 wood, lazy carry of about 215 and that was the last we saw of it as it plugged and vanished.

guess the course pro kinda was right

Ahh okay. Most I've ever paid was 70 bucks for 18 at some aus PGA course. Thought that was expensive.

Paid I think $120 Aus to play Santiburi in Koh Samui (back when I completely sucked at golf as opposed to only being kind of bad)

Probably wasn't worth it at the time, since I went by myself as other friends didn't want to pay so much, but its cool for the experience (I would have lost at least 6 balls over 9 holes).

Yeah I played the St Johns cause at the Heritage Golf and Country club, actually ran out of balls at the 17th...The long grass right at the edge meant I had no hope of finding a ball even if it rolled into the rough.

I'm hoping Scott can win so he'll be my tip (bias maybe).

Fowler loves Links styles golf so he should place well. Rory should also do well having played a few tourneys in the region under difficult conditions - he should be ready to go.

It'll be interesting to see how Tiger goes. People are saying he could win it or he could come last.

McDowell should place well.

i just think that if the weather is average it will favour someone with the ability to put the hurt on the ball and hold it in the wind like cabrera, stenson, woods or bubba (if he doesn't overuse the driver).

form-wise rose or fowler seem likely.
