Man it is tough to score when your iron play is horrific. Hit plenty of fairways and my putting was great...but my irons were absolutely terrible. Did not strike one all day.
I didn't really like your post because that is exactly how I played on Friday in the monthly challenge. I only finished 4 over hcp but that is a great description of what went down ffs.

Played up at Mt Macedon on Saturday morning. Talk about 4 seasons in one day it was almost snowing at one stage. One minutes it was hail/sleeting the next was bright and sunny. Freezing cold at 7:30 tee off with snow at the top of the mountain.

Cousin is a member there and he was looking for a partner for for 4BBB Par competition. We came in a +4 which should be enough for us to qualify through to the next round. I was hitting my irons so sweetly and the wider fairway gave me so much more confidence off the tee. Still had some issues around the green but the greens there are very tricky. Being on the side of a mountain it can be quite tough to read whether puts are uphill or downhill!

Also had a hit at Flinders earlier in the week. Was a cracker of a course. Managed to hit out of a ravine on the coffin hole.
Views were something else. How good is it to be playing golf watching waves come in. Was absolutely freezing and blowing a gale with hints of sideways rain. Genuinely fun

Had a hit at St Andrews beach today. Best course I've played on by some way and the highest slope as well (135). Was in unbelievable condition, greens were carpet like and surprisingly quick given the weather. 450 metre undulating par 4 was a bit cheeky though

Driver 8iron

Played at Gisborne GC earlier in the week, the rains have destroyed that course lately. Rather play out of the rough than the fairways they were that bad. I used an offer from crazygolfdeals.com.au to play there but even with that felt like we paid far to much given the condition.

Attempted to play at my local yesterday but was underwater lol.

Drove 30 minutes north to Heathcote today and the course is remarkable give the condition of those in the Macedon Ranges. Greens in great condition. My golf wasn't great but got better as the day went on. Driving good. Putting okay. long irons shithouse.

And yes I do actually work but my brother is down from queensland so trying to get in as much golf as i can while he's here haha.

reminds me of the Ocean 18th hole. hitting slightly uphill and always into the wind. 408m plays to something like 450 i guess.

Driver, 4 iron out of the rough, 4 iron out of rough after it rolled back, 7 iron, sand wedge, sand wedge, putter and putter.

I'm assuming your talking about the hole with the blind tee shot over the poles - rough on the left, pots on the right - the 13th

Moonah course today. prestine conditions. Green green grass. greens true. sunshine.

used the one same ball for the whole 18. only in 1 bunker. 36 pts. 2 wipes. frst outing comp wise with the new clubs. wedges are so nice, but a bit timid today in comp conditions. bladed, chunked and shanks a plenty

Question.

I had a drive off a par 4 at our local and it faded, not sliced :straining: ,off to the right along the fairway tree line. We walked up searching for my ball when one over the lads spotted it stuck up in the branches. It had wedged itself up there.

What's the ruling ?

3 options I believe

1) play it as it lies...(difficult)
2) declare it unplayable and take a one stroke penalty and drop within 2 club lengths
3) declare it lost and play another from the tee

With #2, aren't you also allowed a drop with a one stroke penalty, line of flag and no closer to the hole?

without viewing any othe rposts replies, id say call unplayable, take a drop, 2 club lengths etc
