from my searches on pykies golf postings he's off not many, and average distances are where the ball comes to rest.

i reiterate, bubba watson only hits 287! and that includes drives that have not hit the fairway

tbh 287 is his average, depending where he plays he may drive for position rather than length and drives that dont hit the fairway could mean stopping in rough or hitting a tree and stopping

I think pykie is off scratch or something absurd, I'm a social once every 6 week golfer of 7.1 or something.

Bubba can hit 370m when he wants to.

Pro's aren't super heroes, I played junior tournaments against a lot of the late 20's Aussie players, I was always one of the bigger drivers of a ball.


I'm 6"6 and 103kgs, my swing speed on trackman is around the 135 mark.

Here are my breakdowns for what I carry.

Driver: 300-340
15* hybrid: 240-260
20* hybrid: 215-230
5 iron: 200-210
6 iron: 180-190
7 iron: 170-180
8 iron:150-160
9 iron 140-150
PW: 130-140
GW: 120-130
52: 110-120

Long drive guys hit the ball consistently in the 400's when they don't have a head wind.

played at sunshine, medway, sandringham, ivanhoe, growling frog the last few weeks. Looking to try a new one tomorrow. Was tossing up between the 2 mentioned above. cheers

Nah i played with him and he genuinely played far above himself, we tried everything to put him off but he just smoked it.

He Plays off 23 and had a 86 off the stick

Had my first game for a very long time, hit 110 which wasn't surprising at all considering I couldn't hit one fairway at all. Stuffed up around 10 chips from 50m out or closer and had a fair few puts lip out so there is definitely room for improvement.

Slow players really ruin the game I think, on a few occasions I had to wait for around 7-8 minutes for the group of 3 to finish on the green while there was 3 groups behind us who had to stop too. Not to mention one bloke walking his buggy on the greens and just not giving a shit.

sounds like you had no luck with the putts. chipping comes with consistent playing, so it will come.

played at the delightful old course national today. a light zephyr providing cooling, and thankfully there was shade. love the course, that i once hated. many 3 pointers, however a few wipes. low 30s total pt wise.

Hate slow groups. I was playing in a 4 yesterday and we were being held up by a 3 in front of us. Lining up putts from both sides of the cup, marking balls inside a foot instead of tapping in, and generally taking time preparing for shots. It was so frustrating and it ruined more then one approach shot of mine due to the break between shots.

Was an otherwise good round, though The Lakes 18 at The Vines is in pretty poor nick.

Yeah was a pretty ordinary day but happy to get back out there. Not surprised I chipped so badly, literally took the clubs from the car and straight onto the first.
The course was the Tullamarine Airport Course, in great condition at the moment.
