Enjoyable round at the Heath. Slight precipitation resulted in IMO slow greens. I did not adapt.

um....I hit away from my house. Shanked one once...hit the steel pole....went back past my head through a window!

I once hit right on a drive, was in the rough next to fairway for hole going opposite way.

Felt confident I could thread a wood through a couple trees and reach front of green.

Couple attractive ladies on the other hole let me take my rip

Sure as hell ball squares up one of those trees and comes directly back at me. If I had not been 27 and able to duck in the nick of time it woulda knocked my sorry ass out.

Needless to say, I think they are still laughing

The National today. Not a comp, just a teams event matchplay. Enjoyed the company.

Solid off the tee.
Putted not so well. Pressure of match play I guess.
Don’t think I chipped at all.

I think my 6th flagged round in a row today.

Cap is not moving much, but building a bank.

Hit the green with a 5 wood, 4 and 5 iron on separate holes. That made up for a couple of bad wipes.

Very quick 18 just before dusk (cost me shots in the end rushing around greens). 79. Drove really well and quite a few greens in reg. Had a lesson earlier in the week and I am standing a bit taller in posture. Bit of getting used to but was going really well by the end.

Played Warrnambool GC yesterday.

Whilst in my opinion the course design not being a patch on Port Fairy I can report the conditioning was super. Really firm bouncy greens that rolled very true. New superintendent there doing a great job.

Peninsula was beautiful and a nice distraction from my poor golf. Too many putts, inconsistent irons and woods. But put a score together.

Enjoyed my rounds at Huntingdale and Commonwealth last week. Only managed to get 16 holes in at Huntingdale before it got a bit too dark. Highlight of the round was a birdie on the Long par 3 5th hole. Hybrid onto the green and sunk about an 8 metre putt.
Shot 92 off the stick at Commonwealth so was pretty pleased with that with some of the best bunker shots of my life on display

Had a mate play the club champs there recently and is a member of both. Haven’t gotten down there yet but they are definitely on the list.

9 at Hartfield after work. 46/16 points. Pretty happy with the round as I wasn’t striking the ball well and putting was off but was still scoring ok.

My goal is to consistently break 100 so I’ve continued to commit to a conservative strategy of avoiding blow up holes by cutting out risky shots like driver off the tee on most holes (my home course is just way too difficult - narrow and tree lined with a lot of doglegs) and long approaches. Instead most holes Im playing for bogey - 3 hybrid off the tee, 8 iron for second shot lay ups and pitches for approaches to the green. If I’m in range with the 8 iron or higher I’ll go for the pin.

Where my game is at is the risk of approaching greens with anything lower lofted outweighs the reward. I’ll keep working on these shots on the range.

Im going to join Future Golf. Got some mates who do it and I can play the comps with them. Will also let me play social rounds to contribute to my handicap. Im not sure what my club will do though in terms of letting me change the Golflink number on their system to the one Future Golf gives me. Anyone had any experience with this?
