Big question is do Metro and Huntingdale go ahead and merge?
The fact that due diligence has been going on for nearly two years and the plan was to have a vote in November last year would not give a lot of confidence.

I just don’t reckon it does.
Too many obstacles.
Huntingdale upgrades probably makes it a better course than Metro. So many will vote no.
Cranbourne members not wanted at Metro, so many Metro members will say no.
Then the normal chunk of members that hate change and won’t be convinced of the merits.
Agree. Its also more a takeover by Metro than a merger. Dont know how Huntingdale would vote for it

Think for mergers to happen there needs to be one of the clubs under economic pressure. That won't happen for a while - but in time, things might go on the turn for various clubs around the place.

Currently playing at Whaleback and sitting on the seat at the 7th.

Pull up to the tee box, one group on the green and 2 x groups of 2 waiting at the tee box separately. I’m now in a group of 3 behind them.

“Hey guys, do you want to make a 4 so we don’t have 3 groups on the teebox?”
“Oh nah, 7th hole, we’ll just wait.”

Merge up campaigners.

Meh

Eynesbury today for the first time.
Good course. Challenging without being frustrating, except for the green on the 17th which can eat my entire ass.

Played pretty poorly. 19 Stableford points.
Hit some decent shots but absolutely shanked far too many for my liking. And my putting was just off today as well.

I hate the design of Eynesbury. Every hole has trouble right where your average punter will hit his drive, while low handicappers fly the trouble every time and hit wedge into the green. There are no holes where you can open your shoulders, every tee shot you need to navigate though narrow gaps, just gets tiresome.

Played a corporate day at Woodlands today. 4 man ambrose, bit of fun. Didn't start sinking putts until it was too late, so nowhere near the podium.

First time there, beautiful track, really liked the layout, good variety of holes. Found the fairways wider than the I had expected, I had been warned it was narrow, but did feel like that to me.

Shocking weather, rain squalling through the entire morning. Course played long, hit 5w into a 185m par 3, and generally hit 5w way more than I expected. Nailed a couple of DoD's which is alway fun. Nice on an amborse day when there are no consequences.

I lost 5 balls today 😂

My brother is recovering from hip surgery, and has only been back on the course a couple of weeks. He has generally been hitting it OK, but had a mare on the front yesterday, couldn’t rotate at all and was struggling to get it away off the tee.

We played 4BBB stableford. I started with 5 straight pars, missed gettable par putts on the next two then finished bogey par. 39 off the stick, 23 points on my own for 23 combined. 😂

He loosened up on the second nine and started to play OK. I had my only bad hole of the day, he made double for a one pointer. From there on at least one of us made a par all the way in for another 23 points, 46 overall. Finished runner up on the day, only better score was a 50. 😮

37 points today in the comp. Finished 3rd in A grade. Not sure if anyone noticed my lack of posting but I lost my swing a bit after my best summer ever. Had to make the time to get it back. Did that yesterday. 5 over today says I'm hitting much better. Big relief.

Good thinking. This is something that I need to work on with my short game. Practicing on your weaknesses, along with everything in life, gives you confidence with other parts of your game as well.

I'm coming to Melbourne for the Kings birthday footy and will make a golf trip out of it. So with reciprocals Im thinking Sat- Huntingdale, Sun- Commonwealth Mon-footy,Tues-PK, Wed-Woodlands. Have the option of Spring valley and Settlers Run. Would I chop out any for thoae two? Thoughts?

You'd be going well to get a tee time on a Sat at Huntingdale at the minute I'd imagine - even as a Recip Member.

Sigh. Waterford Valley in glorious conditions.

14 greens in reg. 11 over. 1 birdie...18th index 1 (my only 1 putt for the day).

42 putts. 5 three putts and a 4 putt. If you don't laugh you cry.
Loved the 1st two sentences. Got genuinely excited. Then I got sad.

I feel your pain. Guessing the problem lies in your lag putting? I don’t have an answer

Sorry...13 in reg. Greens were holding a lot more water than they have and were very slow and I was short mostly. So yes lag putting was horrible...then belted a few past by trying to get the ball to the hole.
