On 36 points standing on the 17 tee yesterday. Ended with 37 after a couple of exquisite 3 putt doubles.

I should be reminded of this if I ever criticise the finish of any round anywhere.

It happened extremely quickly too.

Disappointing round. Summed up by having an Eagles putt on 15, which would've nearly brought me back to square, only to 4 putt for bogey. 31 points.. played poorly.

I’ve executed maybe a couple of 4 putt bogeys in my life. I think they should require the player to remove themselves from the field of battle for immediate psychological assessment.

I played on Wednesday at Redcliffe Golf Club. 32 points off the black tees ffs. I’m 53 years old off a hcp of 18 there. They always put me off the back tees. Meanwhile the three old blokes I played with were off the aqua coloured tees nearly 50m in front at times.
The 9th is 165m and I swear that I covered nearly 600m in total for my double bogey.

I can only dream of hitting it that far to give myself a chance of four putting for bogey.

we have one downhill par 5(11) which if you can hit it circa 220m you can take a nice downwind ride into a slot and only have circa 140 in. Northerly required.

Played Barwon Heads (loved it, lightning greens), 13th Creek (nup) and L Links (fun). Great weekend.

What made 13th Creek a 'nup' for you? That's one of the courses on my list to try out.

Par 3s were great, couple of water carries and tough greens.
But the rest of it, to generalise, was very formulaic. Fairway pots same distance to catch your drive and a pot in front of every green, or so it seemed. It’s a nice course to play but just not one I’d want to play every week.
Barwon Heads I could, Lonsdale no.
I’ve haven’t played 13th Beach for ages and by all reports it’s the better one.
On 13th in general it is a great venue for a golf weekend. Accom good, bar good, food good.
