Your movie preferences, Genre/Actor/Director

Thought this might be appropriate to add in after I got the idea from MC Bad Genius downloading my IMDB data.

I'm still slowly going through my watch list trying to rank movies, and ranking ones I've already seen.

Here are my preferences by director. I'm still trying to work out the most suitable way to separate multiple entries. I might just have to have Director 1,2,3. Actor 1,2,3 which I'll have to merge into the spreadsheet.

I like the idea of your top 10 underrated movies (ie the largest positive discrepancy between your rating and the IMDB rating) and top 10 overrated movies. I might have to do a bit of an analysis on that.

With the directors though, I think you should have it plotted on a dual axis - the x-axis is how many movies you've seen by the director and the y-axis is your average rating of movies by that director.

I'll have to see how to do it. I've been having trouble organizing everythign.

I have a master table imported from IMDB, I've started creating an actors one manually because I don't know how to pull data manually or which site to do so and what code to use.

ATM I'm looking for a no frills text based site to rip data from and just add 20 or so entries for every movie so I can compile an actors table in which I can then do some charts based on which actors I've seen the most movies etc.

I've been having trouble working out how to do stuff with multiple categories because this happens




I have created this which shows each director and their movies that I've seen. Unfortunately I haven't been able to separate directors in which I'd need to create a whole new table to create multiple entries. But it shows the spread of each actor. For example John Woo is high but small because I've only seen and ranked highly one movie. Not showing all of them. So I've no idea how to compare and contrast these.

Ok, I think I did it. This is only for my top 20 directors ranked by 3 movies or more.
Count of movies on the Y Axis, ratings on the X Axis.

Spielberg, more movies watched, good rating. I guess top right quadrant is best

At least by my ratings. I'd be interested to see what this looks like spread out with critics ratings, and IMDB Ratings maybe one day.
