Cheese, Tom Hawkins is rated highly. I voted for Ben McKinley because any kid who can kick 40+ goals in an average side in his first year is going to be good.

hawkins to have a break out season next year...
build some of those kilos into muscle, better pre season and increase his endurance...
hawkins is also 16 months younger than mckinley

I voted Gumbleton despite the fact it is purely potential. I see him as the best prospect by myself.
The future looks bleak for the Tiges with those three present in the pole

McKinley is good value for his height - smart player that can really use the body well to out position his opponent. 42.20 & 7 assists from 18 games, get his engine up over the preseason and hopefully he can make more leads (already works very hard though) and possibly average 3 goals per game.

Very happy with what Kennedy showed in his games this year - dual sided delivery lace out to the forwards inside 50. Big work rate, hard at the ball & man and actually attempts to chase his opponent when not in possession of the ball. 7.4 & 9 assists in his 8 games.

I think they can be a dangerous FF/CHF combo + LeCras, Wirrpanda & Lynch - very happy with them at this stage but would love to get my hands on Chris Yarran.

Neagle/McKinley/Hawkins would be the three for me.

Hawkins is strong, fast, and a good kick.

McKinley is a very smart player, and knows how to use the ball well.

Neagle is possibly the next Fevola, minus the off-field indiscretions. Massive, accurate kick, major upper body strength, and fast break-away speed as well.

cmon, what about mitch morton, played an important role in our forward line this year kicking 35.

I picked Dawes because I am a Pie Fan I reckon he will turn out to be a Rocca Type Forward

but

Also like Tippet, Very Tall Forward at 201cm, Mobile and Probably the Best Contested Mark of all Young Forwards

personally, i like neagle at this stage... he is supremely strong and a reliable kick in front of goal, he just needs to take more marks leading up the ground but has the hallmarks of a quality key forward... but would have josh kennedy over him

To build a team around you need a strong, tall and agile forward and from that list I think Kennedy fits that bill the best based on what I saw this year. It was a shame after some promising form that injuries stopped him in his tracks.

Ben Mckinley Hands down the best forward on this list! At very least will be as good as bradshaw. I would give up pick 6 for him.

I must admit, I was very surprised that Carlton let Kennedy go... it seems to me that by doing so they undermined any chance of developing a premiership winning spine for their next window of opportunity.

Had they kept Kennedy and pick 3, by 2010-11 they could have had a midfield of Gibbs, Murphy, Masten/Palmer etc, kicking it to Kennedy at CHF, and Fev at FF...

Personally, that setup seems more likely to win a premiership than Gibbs, Murphy & Judd kicking it to Fevola on his own.

have i missed something in the passed few years??
scott gumbleton, the 3rd preffered young forward??
he played 5 games in 07 and 0 in 08, i know he might have potential, but come on....
1. Hawk
2. Mckinley & Kennedy
3. Riewoldt

yet you rank hawkins #1 after 15 games in the same period? i think people are voting on potential, as well as the small amount we've seen of each player.

i think were developing hendo as a chb
how can you compare mckinley to 'big guns' bradshaw
bradshaw is a full forward whereas mckinley is best suited to playing a goalkicking hff role

Tom Hawkins is a joke, he will be delisted after next season. He is only on an AFL list because of his father. Would struggle to get a game at Balwyn Tigers.

Geez that's pretty harsh. As for most key position players he needs to get a little older, more muscle and in the end he'll be a true champion. Give him a couple more years at least before you totally disregard him.
