I can't read the BF AFL forum anymore without completely losing the plot. I can't look at another post by a Collingwood or Essendon ********er about how we're all snow going, Range Rover driving elitists who don't follow our club. The last straw is the thread by some Bombers **************** about what a disgrace we are for only getting 35000 to the G today (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177757 <-- I suggest you hammer this thread if you haven't already).
I'd like to think that this is confined to the morons and intellectual lightweights who seem to congrete on here in great numbers but the truth is that there's a lot of people out there online and off who have it in for our club. Think of how many conversations you've had at work (school/etc) where the conversation has turned to teams moving interstate or merging and how we're always first or second in line to go. No bastard is going to lift a hand to save us if we're ever in trouble.
Now, your thoughts on this. I think we should be forging closer links with the North and Footscray supporters to protect the interests of the smaller Melbourne clubs. Irrespective of on-field issues and what happens between the supporters when we play each other we need to show unity to ensure that the likes of Collingwood and Essendon don't get away with marginalising our clubs and putting us out of business to try and get a couple thousand more through the gate each every week. Because god knows if there was $100000 in it for them they'd probably kill us in a minute in a rush to get to it.
I'm not sure what form this could take on or offline but I feel like we've got to do something before we get knifed and become the West Melbourne Kangaroos.
