Jake Lloyd is a really strong runner. Membrey was pulled out for a bit to do a beep test like thing last week. The rest I'm not so sure, I only watch training for about 30 minutes after a run.How are the new draftees looking ( in particular membrey )
Mitchell has been mainly doing laps, really big laps around Moore Park where they train i.e. he does a lap of the oval where they train, then goes out around the rest of the park. McGlynn was doing some agility, kicking and handball drills, Smooch and Mattner were doing just plain laps together and Goodesy has been doing a lot of laps too.
Benny doesn't seem too far away from rejoining the main group.
And lord Jesus, Tippett is a really really big toned fast guy who is very good at kicking goals. Mind you Kennedy and malceski were also chipping them in from everywhere.
I thought we've established Malceski is the premier from-everywhere clutch goal kicker in the league?
Tippett's set shot skills will desert him on game day. Unless we can get Davo onto him, too. Is he still around the club?
Been checking out some photos from today's training, Everitt looks in very good nick. Will he be our surprise packet this year or is this a false dawn for a player whose has promised a lot but has struggled to deliver consistently
Tippett actually seemed to sort out his set shots in the latter part of last year (see Prelim).Tippett's set shot skills will desert him on game day. Unless we can get Davo onto him, too. Is he still around the club?
Good work Graemed, well done, keep it coming. Good to hear about Rohan. I like the prospects for Towers, Rampe and Cunningham in 2013. I agree that Hanneberry is a future captain.Originally posted this on the wrong board and copped some flak.
Glad to have found the right place, hope this is ok on this thread:
This is my annual gift to the list. I've been attending the odd training while on Hols and got to say very impressive both recruits and old stagers....

Have not seen Mitchell, Goodes, Smith or Mattner on the training track yet. Rohan has been doing running on grass for less than a week. McGlynn, Richards, Jude and Mumford are in full training. Tippett is running with group and looking sxcary good in skills and practice drills. Not to take away from an excellent post, but a lot of those general observations aren't anything new. We know the guns are guns, and the young guys are exciting!
Any specific standouts that you have seen? How are the injured boys coming along?
Cheers
Seems like the training watchers are impressed with Tippett. Agree he is a very big and athletic unit. I was pissed off to see him leave when I thought his best footy was still in front of him and from reports it looks like you guys will reap the reward for your very large investment.
Who will KT push out of the side when he finally appears in red and white? Does the highly underrated LRT or GF surprise packet Pyke make way? Will KT play as a permanent FF?
I reckon you have a very good list but it does lack experienced depth in case injuries strike. You'll obviously be hoping that some of your promising untried types can step up if needed.
We haven't got any less depth than we did last year. Nobody retired, all the players we traded or delisted played a combined total of 13 games in 2012 so we're losing little there, and the player we brought in (Tippett) played 21 games in 2013, so we've actually improved.I reckon you have a very good list but it does lack experienced depth in case injuries strike. Of the new guys, still trying to identify individuals but Cunningham, Marsh, Lockyer, Lamb and Rampe look to be making an impression.
Thanks arrived late on Monday and saw him with main groupWill have to correct you, McGlynn hasn't resumes full training yet. He did minimal training with the rest of the playing group as of Monday. Generally does agility or skills separately with a trainer. Doesn't seem that far away though. I'd be really surprised if Rohan is in any seniors games this year, he's still learning to trust his leg. Hasn't participated in any skills training at the open training sessions I've attended
