If your club were to retire one guernsey number, which would it be?

Quite a few international sports have retired jumper numbers, honouring the previous greats of the team (or the unfortunate passing of favourites).

However, right now I believe there are only three retired numbers in the AFL:
#1 at Hawthorn (Fans are #1)
#19 at Adelaide ("19th man")
#42 at Collingwood (Darren Millane)

Seems a bit odd that we are one of the few sports who don't follow this tradition.
If your team were to retire one (or more) guernsey numbers, never to be worn again, which would it be?

Winmar/Lenny's 7 is close but Dunstan is such an apt inheritor It would be insane to retire it.

#18 would be a pretty obvious one for North, if it were to happen, but there have already been players since Carey to wear it. From our current players, #29. I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable with someone else wearing that guernsey.

Would be #29 when Pav finishes up. Has done so much for our Footy club by just staying put, is also our clubs greatest ever player.

I don't really see the point in retiring jumpers. In the immediate aftermath of an unexpected death as a tribute, sure, for a while.

Otherwise, I'd rather give it to a kid who'd be honoured to wear it and can forge his own history.

I would say yours should be number 31 out of respect to Fletch cause nobody else will come close to playing as long as he has in that number at your or any club possibly and at your club at least it seems pointless to try.
