Players Who Have Changed Their Names XI

Tillekeratne Dilshan
?????
Mohammad Yousuf
?????
?????
Abdul Kardar
?????
?????
Bob 'Dylan' Willis

Len Pascoe
12th - John Bradson (on pedigree alone!)

Does anybody have any other players to fill in the gaps above? Didn't really think Murali fit the bill.

Looks like a Larry Gomes fro to me ;)

Good find, but there are plenty of photos of Larry with wavy non-afro hair, and I think I've even found one where he had a perm.

Gordon Greenidge (original birth surname was Lavine)

I wouldn't think so. The Isaac was not added to or taken away from Viv's original birth name, so I don't get the feeling it fits in with the "Changed Their Names" part of your team. Viv preferred to be called by one of his middle names instead of his given Christian name, same as Neil Harvey, Graeme Pollock, Brian Close, Colin Cowdrey, Wally Grout, and heaps of other famous cricketers.

What about an 11 of test cricketers who played another sport at a high level?

I can think of a fair few vfl players going back to Warwick Armstrong right up to simon o'donnell but the only ones I know on the world stage are:C.B.Fry Dennis Compton and jehan Mubarak. Any suggestions?

Shane Warne played for St Kilda as a junior didn't he?

English Captain JWHT Douglas won a gold medal in boxing at the 1912 Olympics. Of course, the rumour is that the referee who raised his hand in victory was his father.

Brian Booth was an Australian Hockey player.
