Weller could be a very handy sub just like Sutty was a couple of years ago.
This kid has talent in spades. I hope people don't get to critical of him if he doesn't meet their expectations from game 1.

lol as long as he doesn't get caught holding the ball and picks up a couple of disposals he will be a upgrade on Suban/MDB.
If he is the sub, almost a waste of time as he will find it hard to work into game in 1 qtr.

Yeah it's no unreasonable to say Mzungu gets the vest straight up.
Have no choice but to assume Alex Pearce will play forward. We're completely starved up there otherwise.
Also didn't read previous posts but Pearce was omitted due to form?? Was that his form prior to his shoulder tweak or afterwards?

Alex has really held his own back in defense but I'm really excited to see him up forward. He seems like a real go-getter type and backs himself so would love to see him bag 1-2 goals
Yeah, unless we're going in with a smaller (less skillful) Forward line. Alex played a game Forward this year in the WAFL but peel were playing like poo and needed him back, down back i think. As i recall A Pearce didn't do that well in the forward line that day however i think the supply was horrible. Also, A Pearce used to play in the Forward line before coming to Freo so maybe he'll have just as good output as Tabaner?

Agree.. Are we too tall at the back now Dawsons back in?
My issue is Pav and Walters are our only key forwards at present, we've got no one else. Mayne doesn't count, he adds defensive forward pressure and does a variety of stuff on and off the ball but if he was a key forward he'd have been dropped games ago. Griffin can only make cameos as well.
Really worried about hitting between the big sticks at the moment

It would have been prior to the shoulder tweak. Dropped some easy marks (one crucial sitter in defense) and didn't really do much.

Would much rather see Weller start. Sitting on the bench for 3 and a half quarters gaining nerves would be mind racking.
