Geez whenever I see my ex we don't even bother to have any real alone time or stimulating conversation. We were together for 4 years and practically grew into young adults together, I reckon it's weird trying to be friends with someone you know that well. Bit sad but ah well.

I cannot close. Can't ******* do it, what is wrong with me. Been on 3 dates with a girl and most I've got is a 3 second hook up. Have never had this issue before, even the girls that plainly haven't liked me I could still get a kiss here and there. But 3 dates and she won't let me kiss her but is seemingly still keen to meet up again. Can't work out what is going on... feel like I may be friend-zoning myself. Has anyone been in the situation before and can they please shed some light...
Yeah I realise now I should've definitely asked her this time. I think my recent mistakes have been to do with being too forward, which has made me be hesitant and let things play out this time. First 2 dates she said she didn't like 'PDA' which I took at face value, and was content with a quick kiss and peck on the lips. This time I gave her a lift home and was positive I was going to get a hook up but wasn't to be. She's not a shy girl at all ( wouldn't say especially outgoing, but not shy) but is maybe just resistant to intimacy? I don't know. It's a really strange one, can't work out if it's her or me.

It's only 3 dates bro, relax. If she was begging you to take her behind the local Salvation Army store and slap her around whilst she calls you daddy I'd be worried but alas. Make sure the next date is a late night date and see what happens.
That's what I thought too. I wouldn't sleep with a guy I genuinely liked after 2 or 3 dates

I hate dates. Prefer meeting men more "organically"- and might be contradicting the above but like to be friends probably first and get to know them.
Hasnt worked that great tho for me in the past- fell hard for one guy. He is happily married + kid with someone else now.

1. Was good, liked the guy a lot (was off BF too)- just a tip. When a guy says "I don't want a relationship", it means he doesn't want a relationship. Was a shame, we got along really well and I liked him a lot.
2. s**t date. Went to the movies, I suggested we see a comedy he said "no" and proceeded to choose the movie. The Illusionist IIRC. s**t movie, wanted to walk out half way thru and never go back, but a sense of decency stopped me.
3. Coffee date. Meh.
4. Dinner date. Meh.
That's about it, I think.

Well, I wouldn't say 'no kisses'. First date I did get a kiss but she pulled away first citing the PDA excuse. Second and third time a peck on the lips, which at least is something. But yeah, I reckon I'm treading dangerously close to the friendzone....I'm with Shell, dating in general sucks. We do have mutual friends so I'm going to engineer a more 'natural' situation with them involved + alcohol, and see where that gets me.

Really? Never met up with a girl (alone) for a few drinks, lunch, coffee etc? I don't think many people go on traditional dates anymore like dinner then to the movies and ice cream on the way home.

Movies as a first date is epic fail - brb lets sit awkwardly together for 2.5 hours and not talk
I like good food and eating out so don't mind the early stage of dating - good excuse to go to a decent restaurant and have a chat. If it doesn't work out nothing lost.
