Ashby wins appeal and Slippery gets hit for costs.

The point is still being missed here.

Never would have been an issue had Peter Slipper still been a lowly LNP backbencher at the time. Ashby would never even have agreed to work for him. Nothing would have happened except for Prime Minister Julia Gillard and the Labor government.
Who paid the ultimate price for their stupidity and lack of First Principles.

Labor supporters here who keep justifying Labor's cynical, opportunistic dealings by drawing equivalence with the coalition of all parties (!) just provide further illustration of why the Labor primary vote is still in the toilet and will continue to remain there.
What do you think Tone would have done if faced with minority government issues? Any chance of opportunistic dealings do you think?

Labor supporters still continue to justify Labor prime minister Julia Gillard's actions in elevating the sleazy LNP backbench rat Slipper by asking stuff like "what would Tony Abbott have done" as though Tony Abbott and coalition is the benchmark of governance to which Labor should aspire.

Can someone please google Mal Coston and then explain here at what point Labor wrested the mantle of sleaze off the coalition and draped it around its own, Labor's, own shoulders and still continues to boast about it even after the 2013 result?

No need to take the moral high ground here-its not the time nor place for this scenario. You need to have some semblance of reality. If Tone, or anyone had been dealt the restraints facing Gillard, they would have done the same things. Simple. Except Tone would not have been able to pull it off because he has no people skills and nobody seems to respect him.

.
Abbott , liberals/Nats and news ltd/pro coalition media have a history of dirty tactics like this

1- Abbott's slush fund which he set up against his political enemies
2- Godwin Grech
3-Ashby scandal
4- AWU/Gillard scandal

5. WMD
6. Pauline Hansen smears
7.Travel entitlements
8.ICAC (which has back-fired)
9. Funding to private education providers - scholarships

And again.

Did it occur when Slippery's patron Gillard became prime minister given her sleazy background in the AWU scandal and her strident defence of Craig Thomson? Can anyone nominate instances of sleaze under Kevin Rudd, for all his sins of commission?

Feeling really sorry now for Ashby. Pyne and Brough should be ashamed of themselves.

Still I wouldn't mind if his generous lawyer was on my side.
"Mr Ashby and has lawyer Michael Harmer have indicated they are considering an option to appeal the Full Court of the Federal Court judgment handed down on Monday."
"While Mr Harmer has indicated he would continue to meet Mr Ashby's legal costs - estimated around $3 million - taxpayers are picking up the tab for Mr Slipper and the Commonwealth to fight his claims."

With him facing perjury charges, he might just spill the beans to get a lesser sentence Maggie
I have a strange feeling, that nothing would ever be allowed to stick...
