Player Profile:

At just 22 James Jordon can call himself a premiership player after appearing in the 2021 Grand Final for Melbourne as the medical substitute, the same year he made his debut for the Dees. The midfielder was initially taken as pick 33 in the 2018 draft and joined the Sydney Swans on the opening day of the 2023 AFL Free Agency Period. He played just 18 games in 2023 with the hopes to improve and grow in the red and white.

I see the brownlow and Craig Bird jokes have already been made.

Too slow it seems. :(

Welcome JJ!

If he's filling the void/role Stephens leaves behind then we've already got an upgrade, to be honest. Only 22 as well so there is scope for improvement.

Surprised he was an unrestricted free agent at 22?
He was delisted then re-rookied. Once you have been delisted once you become an UFA whenever your contract is up

Gonna be really interesting to see how he goes. It's hard to gauge his time at Melbourne.

On the one hand you could argue that he didn't get enough opportunities with so many stars in that side so couldn't really build on his decent-but-hardly-noteworthy performances.

On the other hand you could argue that no wingmen fair better than Melbourne's with Petracca, Oliver, Viney etc. feeding it out to them so he might not find it as easy with us. That's if he even gets opportunities in our starting side.

I personally think that with Mills being out for a portion of next season, Gulden will have to spend more time inside (the club might be wanting him to do this anyway regardless of Mills?) and so Jordon can take his place in the wing rotation along with McInerney & Campbell.

Reportedly prefers ham, cheese, tomato and a bit of seeded mustard on his toasties.
If they bring back Ask a Swan it is this boards job to send in emails asking players what their favourite toastie is.
