Dodo is a massive campaigner, but those blokes are the reason trade week is interesting.

If it were all blokes getting along to get a "good result for both" parties it would be boring AF.

I hope there is a late Geelong <-> Bombers deal so Dodo and Mackie can square off.
Mackie and Dodoro seem to work fine together lol Essendon and Geelong seem to compete for the same players but rarely trade players between them.

and Dodoro and SOS are equally campaignerish but they're also good mates which makes it quite a funny dynamic (like the time Dodoro put a bid on Jack Silvagni when he was being drafted)

Was always comfortable with Band 2 if it meant no Sheil.

Sheil only in play if pick 13 was on. Unfortunately a couple of things happened.

1. Dodoro leaked it to his client media without discussing it with the Saints (who were somewhat interested in Sheil but not as part of this deal)
2, Essendon hid the extent of Sheils injuries until he had to go in and get his knee fixed.
3. Dodoro needed the 900k off the books because he had 3 other spud FA's to bring in on huge dollars, cracked it as Saints said no way to Sheil and had to rearrange his TPP because he maxed out the credit card.
4. Took so long to lodge papers because was told Saints would match anything less than Band 2. Dodoro blinked and folded to SOS's demands
5. Essendon get a good player in Gresham, but now the TPP is stuffed as they have Sheil's 900k they expected to have off their books.
6. Saints get pick 21 which is fair compo and now have a very large TPP in excess to go after Haynes and their pick 15.

Anyway Enjoy your three ordinary recruits and Gres on a collective of over 2 mill a year plus Sheil 900k for no output next year.

Bye, it’s been a pleasure reading this thread, see you next year. :)
😂 and one last melt before you leave. Lovely.

Dodo, SOS and now Mackie are the best people going this time of year. Them and whomever invented McDonalds Monopoly and the bloke that founded Rheem.

St Kilda supporters - “lol, Essendon supporters are so stupid for thinking they get pick 13.”

Also St Kilda supporters - “where is pick 13?”
unlike shiel pick 13 is not in play, shiel can be found in essendons rehab group, his 2024 contract figure can be found where it was at the beginning of this

IN DODO'S AND ESSENDONS NIGHTMARES

Also St Kilda supporters “if we don’t get pick 13 we will MATCH AND FORCE DODO TO TRADE”

******* lol.
Essendon supporters - "Saints are going to give us a first round pick for Shiel"
Everyone else - "That would be the stupidest trade of all time"
Essendon supporters - "But he's not 31 yet!!! / He's not broken!!! / We don't want Gresham!!!"

Cope lmao

Finally, the deal everyone thought was reasonably fair from day 1 manages to sneak in before the deadline. Essendon fans must be relieved that their list management team is changing up next year! All the best to Gresh, and let's hope we put the pick to good use.

Did you make this part up?

I certainly don’t remember saying we’d ever be matching band 2
Agree, nobody ever said we'd match band 2, just band 3 and above. Good result for us here. No busted Shiel and a band 2 pick for a very frustrating and injury prone Gresham who was borderline best 22 anyway. Good luck Bombers with him and the rest of your trade haul :)

Why did it have to go in before today?

What are Essendon doing? Loading up on more players that won't get them where they need to go.

Getting player for only salary which seems to be flying through the roof over the next 4-8 years

Not sure there is anything that can significantly make any club better up for trade

Oliver was the one and still wouldve cost the world

The one which other list managers said they'd be floored if Saints went through with, and which Jon Ralph quickly changed to reflect an actual realistic outcome? You've got some real critical thinkers over there.
Why are you so hung up on it?
