I know it's petty, but I've seen this a couple of times now, just for me... it's "ensure". To "insure" is to pay money as security against an unfortunate incidence, in the event of which happening you get a payout. Like when you insure your Datsun 380b for 3rd party, in case you crash into a car with value.

Massive oversight on my behalf, thanks for wasting 5 minutes of your life to make sure i dont do that again. You dont know how much i appreciate it Duritz, maybe you should run a website called "Grammar/spell check Club Online" ? this is clearly your calling in life, you could charge 4% to oversee posts and 4% per correction, clearly you pick these mishaps up better than you do winners for Punter Club Online. :D

I thought Catkins was in for a huge campaign after her first up run, she was okay 2nd up and I backed her last time expecting her to win, by her standards she was ordinary, at worst she should have finshed a close 2nd to Sweet Idea given the pace of it but Girl Guide flew by & the others were coming quick, couldn't back her on her last two runs in this.

Side Glance beat them all home in the Cox Plate and all except Criterion in the Caulfield Stakes - so yes - now that he is out I don't rate the CP form. He is also the best horse out of all of them which was a major factor in the decision.
Keen to see him back next spring with Balding keen to step him up in distance. Caulfield cup and melb cup. Although correct me if I'm wrong iluvparis doesn't have much 2 mile form? ?

Has only ever had one start past 2000m and that was 2200m in the US (doens't really count). Pure 2000m specialist for mine. Would have absolutely NONE in a Melbourne Cup unless they walked for the first 2000m+.

Why is it every time i see the word 'campaign/er' anywhere now, in the paper, books, posts, i always think the author is referring to the c word? :D

As you said Criterion beat him home two back and was every bit as good in the Cox Plate but fair enough.

Have bolded your errors for you.

Disagree re Cox Plate run. Side Glance easily the best of any that were going to line up in the MacKinnon.

Having said that - if I had to back one left out of the CP it would be Criterion.

I agree re Side Glance being a big run and he was equal top pick in this with me but disagree about him easily being the best, Criterion more or less had the same run as Adelaide in the Cox Plate and was beaten less than 2 lengths, he also beat Side Glance fair and square two starts back.

If you rate Adelaide and Side Glance then you have to rate Criterion or you are in my opinion playing favorites with certain horses.

Is Deep Field an anchor last leg?

Hard to say - if Hampton Court wins the Derby I think a fair few will be going into the last leg looking at a net loss on the quaddie through Deep Field. Guess it depends on whether your willing to cop a loss if they both win in the hope of winning the big $$$

Sadly agree. Reckon was a superstar but been off boil. Perhaps its an autumn horse

Mays Dream looking the solid bet there.

Yeah did ninja edit to say Criterion would be the only one I would consider out of the CP now.

I do tend to play favourites but it works for me - there is still something that can be gained visually imho that can't be gleamed on pure ratings.

Side Glance & Criterion were the ones I wanted to back in this followed by Happy Trails if odds allowed, the Internationals are an unknown but I'm happy to be with the Cox Plate form in this.

Happy Trails definietly an anti-favourite :) do not rate!

Beaten relatively comfortably last 3 - have heard of excuses at all three runs. To me that suggests he is no longer good enough and is finding trouble as a result. Willing to risk he can't turn it around here.

Lets Make A Deal - each way special in Lexus. Cracking third last start behind Memory and Signoff Caulfield and is lengths better at Flemington

Loomed to blow them away and didn't finish off at all, cat IMO.

Rich Enuff $1.50 place TAB sportsbet

Is that money for old rope or perhaps for jam?

What if he hasn't come up from the Guineas? Could easily be tailed off.

surely wouldn't run it if not right. Its a colt yeah? They'd be protecting its record for breeding purposes rasher than flogging like its Weekend Hussler

They aren't machines. Trainer might think he is ok but them just runs completely flat on the day.
