The ruck battle was a bit of a fizzer. The ball was never free till it had been hit about 3 times in the centre. Lobbe showed late in the second quarter that one out he will be a formidable goal square opponent for any defender.

As a side note. Lucy cornes just posted that Sonny Cornes is to start his pathway to the AFL this year.

Except, the SANFL have taken over the southern leagues and he now cannot start until next year.

Probably should qualify that. Half of each turnover was because Polec was a bit rusty, half was due to Wingard's ability.

One of my biggest knocks on Lobbe is his marking - especially contested marking

If he's one out with a similar sized opponent I'm not going to hold my breath it goes our way

The one I saw, the teal team had the ball on the Allan Scott side and were putting it to the goalfront. Not sure who was on Lobbe but they were in a clinch and Lobbe was never going to lose.

Had you told me before I rocked up today I'd see young Dougal have probably 15 touches, compete hard around the ground and kick 3 goals up forward I wouldn't have believed it. We'll done kid. Was the story of the day. Here's to a big year from him.
