In S29, a young British Chipmunk who was homesick for his Aussie home away from home gate-crashed into the world of Sweet. After being scouted out by several teams and after much deliberation, Chippy landed at East Side. His lack of need for sleep and little-known tendency to sparkle in the sun made him attractive to other clubs including the Vampires, but he stayed on, becoming the King of Discord, Captain, and remaining a strategic Chess/Werewolf Champion. A star of the league, Chippy collected three All-SFA selections and four top 20 beez finishes in just 5 complete seasons whilst being the face of a magical rebrand by day and running the glamorous ChippyBet by night. Chippy's retirement at his peak in S34 sent shockwaves throughout the competition, even amongst those of us who were warned that it was coming.

A year later, the opportunity to play alongside multiple friends whilst being compensated handsomely with a deal worth 4,444,444,444 nuts with a SALON allowance was too good to refuse, even after paying out his many fans who had taken up the long ChippyBet odds offered for a comeback. Therefore on the eve of the S37 season thanks to the hard work from Barely Legal/Pawly Represented and 'favourable' qoin/nut conversion rates, Las Vegas proudly announces its merger with ChippyBet.

BEARS SUFFER NARROW DEFEAT TO OLD BOYS​

Season 37 began in high spirits, with the Bears looking to go one step better than the Grand Final performance and win the big one. First up, a trip to Spotswood to meet the S35 winners, the Old Boys.

In warm conditions it was Jezmiester40 who got the first point on the board, and then the first goal from Millky95 . We were off and running! However, despite a futher goal from Electronic_Renaissance , we slipped to a 13 point deficit by the end of the quarter. The Old Boys started quickly in the following term but we came back, and were only behind by 17 at half time. A big team talk was needed.

It didn't seem to have an impact, as the third quarter followed a similar story. We slipped to a 6 goal deficit before Cap , Millky95 and JoseMourinho brought us back to only 15 points behind at the end of the third quarter. We needed a hero.

Jezmiester40 stepped up and raised his hand. Two goals and we were level! Unfortunately, games do not end in the middle of the fourth quarter and the Old Boys got the last couple of goals to win 13.5 (83) to 10.12 (72).

Cap and Millky95 scored 3, whilst Art Vandelay_ and Test Tickle had 24 touches. Matera92 got fouled the most.

Next week is the 400th game for the Bears and we're up against the Gumbies. Let's celebrate it with a win!

Now, we may have tripped a bit during our opening dance with the Old Boys, but as they say, even the most graceful bears stumble on the dance floor. And remember Rome, my friends, wasn't built in a day, and neither are those legendary premiership seasons we dream of.

Our accuracy at goal, well, let's just say it was like trying to hit a bullseye with a blindfold on; entertaining, maybe, but not exactly the precision we were aiming for. I swear, even the goalposts couldn't help but have a little chuckle each time the ball went gallivanting off in its own direction.

On a brighter note, wasn't it something special to witness our newest Bear, Chipmunk, hit the field? Now, I know he may be small in stature, but that chipmunk's got more heart than a bear in the deepest of hibernation. Talk about determination in a pint sized package!

I still believe, my Bears. I believe in each and every one of you. I believe in the journey we're on, navigating the highs and lows of this wild and unpredictable season. With a bit of practice, dedication, and the right mindset, those goalposts won't just be chuckling, they'll be quaking in their boots. Onward, my Bears, to the next chapter of this grand adventure!

So, let's lace up those footy boots, put on our game faces, and show the world what the Bears are truly made of. Believe in yourselves, believe in each other, and let's make this season one for the history books!

So, you're back, while I never left. I'm not sure I totally agree with the decision, but we are stuck with you for now.

This weekend marks a significant milestone for the Las Vegas Bears as we step onto the field for our 400th Sweet FA game in our 23rd season. The journey so far has been nothing short of remarkable.

Founded by hilly in Season 5, the Las Vegas Bears faced early challenges, finishing second last with 9 wins in our debut SFA season. However, Season 6 saw a turning point as the Bears made their first finals appearance, finishing 7th in the regular season. Despite reaching the grand final, we narrowly lost to the Swamprats by 17 points. Season 7 took a downturn with the Bears finishing 3rd last, and the club went into recess due to player shortages and inactivity.

In Season 17, pantskyle and Broken joined forces with plans to revive the Bears, and Season 18 marked our return to the SFA, playing at our new and still home ground, the Stadium in the Sky. Unfortunately, it was a tough comeback, resulting in the Bears securing their first and only wooden spoon (not of the Josh variety).

Over the next three seasons, the Bears made appearances in the finals but faced early exits in weeks 1 or 2 of the finals series. The highlight came in Season 22 when the Bears achieved their highest up till then regular season finish of 3rd position. Despite a crushing defeat by 69 points against the Warriors in the first week of the finals, the Bears would get on a roll, winning the Semi Final against the Wonders by 3 points. Subsequently, clinching the preliminary final against the Royals by 2 points and went on to secure their first and only Premiership in a thrilling 2 point Grand Final win against the Dragons. Among the champions of that historic day, six players; Art Vandelay_, Dingster, Jezmiester40, kane249, Matera92 and RookiePick still stand strong in today's squad.

The following five seasons witnessed consistent finals appearances, with a heart wrenching loss in S27's grand final against the Swamprats by 3 points. However, the Bears faced a challenging streak, missing the finals or exiting in week 1 of finals for the next eight seasons until S36. In a significant turnaround, the Bears snapped a 5 game finals losing streak, securing a spot in the S36 Grand Final. Unfortunately, the Gumbies proved too formidable for us.

As we celebrate this remarkable journey, here's to the next 400 games of triumphs, challenges, and the enduring spirit of the Las Vegas Bears! Thank you to all the players who have been part of this incredible journey.
