I'm very happy to see quite a number of problems with our great club sorted out in one trade.

A couple of small forwards who can rotate through the midfield, A tagger/midfielder who runs both ways, a backup ruckman to Kreuzer and a very solid defender.

'rotate through the midfield'

Couldn't we just draft midfielders who can rotate through the front and back half instead of picking 'gifted' flankers with no tank like Menzel and Yarran?
How about we call them midfielders who can also play as small forwards?

Big-bodied defender who will fit in nicely across half-back, should take a flank next to Weitering at CHB. May even take Docherty's slot so he can move up the ground a little more.

Plowman runs straight & hard when he doesn't have the ball, has good disposal skills plus that ability to evade oncoming traffic too, doesn't mind the contest which is an essential ingredient IMO, 21yo who still has a lot of development & upside in him.

No superstar but a very, very good pick-up by the Blues.

Plowman will be a very, very good player for us. He reminds me a bit of Gibbs the way he moves around as he definitely isn't quick, but he has a knack for finding a bit of space and making great decisions with the ball. GWS will regret letting this guy go for peanuts. Is a huge talent, just needs his body to hold up and an extended run in the seniors to settle into a role. Love the way he reads the play to, he looks a very clever player. Welcome Mr. Plow!

But we already have a few Half backs

Walker
Simpson
Yarran
Docherty
Sheehan
Byrne
Tuohy

Surely he can fill another role?

Buckley, Jamo, Simpson
Plowman, Weitering, Docherty

Tuohy and Walker used in attack, Rowe and White as tall depth, Sheehan and Byrne to earn their games with VFL form first.

Reckon Plowman is going to be a really good pick-up for Carlton. May not set the world on fire in 2016, but he, Weitering and Docherty should build some real synergy over the next few seasons.

Surely he can fill another role?

Walker - another year and he's finished
Simpson - will retire after 2016
Yarran - about to be traded
Docherty - may get moved to a different position
Sheehan - no guarantees due to Irish background
Byrne - see above
Tuohy - who knows how long he will play for

We could, but that would deprive us of making 'But can they run through the midfield?!' jokes :(

I have seen a bit of Plowman, if his body holds, he is a clear win. He reminded me so much of Rance in the early days of his career with the straight running at the contest. Plowman like Rance then can over commit and sometimes lose his man BUT with development he has all the tools to be a very, very good third tall that will damage sides.

Good pick and regardless of the other 3 if they make it or not, Plowmen alone has the potential to make the trade a win.

Good luck Plow
