Looks like this board is full of invaders!!

I'm struggling to fill my last 2-3 forward spots.....and theres a lot of value in the youns Saints list....but I'm really struggling to know which one to pick

Currently I have Siposs as my 1st bench player. Would you recommend him? Is Stanley a better option? Archer? Cripps? Or do I save my money and pick Saad? Somebody else? Another club completely?

Thanks from your favorite poster;)

Its all a bit up in the air. If Stanley plays in the ruck he could enjoy more points than he'd get as a forward. Couldn't see him scoring much above 40-50ish though.

Siposs seems to be getting more of the ball than he did last year and probably has decent Job security. All of us Saints supporters will be disappointed if he doesn't impove from his last year's average of 35ish, ( and you will probably be on the Bay telling us what a spud he is ). ;)

I've gone for Cripps(listed as a forward ) . He's dearer than a Rookie, but if he can get a spot running off the backline he's a chance to pick up more cheap disposals than a forward gets. A sub risk though.

Stanley, Siposs and Cripps are all a good chance to be playing round 1, ( Not listed to play for Sandringham ) but the Sandringham listed players can still get selected ( Saad , Milera ).
Getting selected for round 2 is up to them.

Geelong's Smedts is a prospect but once again no-one knows if he will be picked.
Crow's Porplezia ( if he stays fit ) and Essendon's Winderlich may turn out to be good picks at a bargain price if you can afford them.

Archer is injured, Siposs & Stanley will not be high scorers. Dont get sucked into Siposs's midfield time during preseason, wont happen that much once all the guns are back in side. They also dont get enough of ball and will rely on goals...

Cripps should be a lock out all Saints kids. Saad not really sure on, has never been big possession getter and will probably rely on goals aswell.

IMO only Cripps should come into consideration for your forward line.

Expectations for Dal Santo this year? Likely to see any less stats with Hayes back in the fold?

He's just an out and out SC gun. Highest SC scorer over the past 5 years.

Cripps has me interested but just can't take the leap of faith for the extra $ outlay hoping he'll line up at half back. Screams sub to me

I dont go on the bay and I never call second year players spuds

Thanks for the rest of your advice. It looks like its Cripps for me, otherwise no Saints at all and back to the GWS well for a no-name.

Cheers.

Already have the porpoise (my third bottom fwd)....leaving me with 270 k for my two bench spots. Interesting dilemma, it will be a wild guess in the end.

Stanley - Been uming and ahing over putting him in my SC team for a couple of weeks. Have always liked the look of him from a non-fantasy football point of view, really think he will end up being a solid player. But I'm not sure if 2012 is the year to slot him in and hopefully get some points. What sort of impression has he left on you guys from pre-season?

Dont do it mate, just dont do it.

Hey guys, just noticed that there is still a spot in Div 1 SC league. Anyone know who hasn't joined? I would hate the spot to be filled by some random team. Maybe someone from Div 2 can fill the spot?

Posted this in the leagues thread but just in case it gets missed am posting here as well.

Re: 2012 Supercoach & Dreamteam Saints Leagues - register now!

with gram going down who would be a better pick

fisher or goddard?

Probably not the correct thread for this but Goddard.

I am not convinced Goddard is set for a big season, but Fisher will more than likely be accountable for a man this year with the loss of Dawson, therefore will not be rebounding as much. In fact this is key to our chances this year IMO.

Like Stanley as a person, umming over him as a player, wouldn't touch him in Supercoach

lenny hayes back and firing for you guys for round 1?
do you think watters will nurse him though or will it be back to business as usual for lenny?

has age caught up with him?

Lenny's a bargain. Buy, buy, buy

Saad not yet, Ledger maybe.

I personally think Hayes is too expensive still coming back from injury.

Cripps is on the cusp and could be a good bet?

Thanks, i'll keep Saad on the sidelines for now and put ledger on the bench. :thumbsu:

I've heard a lot about Cripps over the years and he is playing a lucrative role this year it seems. But is he going to average what a lot of other forward rookie will average? Or can he average mid 70s? Because he is priced at 175K...which is a lot more expensive than other rookies. If you were to invest in him as a F6...you'd want a nice return. Also I've heard whispers that he is a likely consistent sub candidate, any truth to these rumours?

Cripps has been playing off the backline, which to me will make him a better prospect than a small forward.
I'd be hoping that he isn't used as a sub more than once every four weeks or so, otherwise its unfair on a developing player ( worse than playing VFL ). Of course if he plays four quarters well it would be foolish to use him as a sub.

Cripps was played as a forward in all 4 games as sub last year. He had great impact kicking 7 goals... So far this entire preseason he hasnt played up forward, he has had major role change coming off backline. Not sure why people still think he's perfect candidate as sub based on last years performances. He has also played 5th most gametime out of every Saint this preseason, not once being sub.

If anyone is getting the vest its Ledger. who has played 15% less gametime and been sub every game

My thoughts on each player on our list

If anyone is feeling really brave, take a punt on Koschitzke. He's lightened up and has increased his speed/agility significantly (although he's no Buddy of course), but he hasn't sacrificed any of his pack marking ability by dropping the kegs.

Looks in marvellous form and finally injury free. Likely to be our number one forward target (so long as our players look away from Nick every once in a while).

I think Ledger will start on the field but may get subbed out. Millera would my pick as sub if he's selected.
