I don't even think Pendelbury has even had that good a year.
Be surprised if he even finishes ahead of Beams.
Ablett wins for mine, too many clear 3's - and also games where he should get some 2's.

Tipped Lance Franklin. From week one the umpires would have been looking at him (just like the rest of us) so he will easily pick up cheap 1 voters here and there. And add that one top of the huge bags he has kicked nearly every week where he will pick up 2s and 3s. He will be as loved by the umpires for votes this season as Chris Judd used to be.

Hoping for Gray to win which will give me a great 40th birthday present on Monday (and I know where peoples' minds are likely to travel on that one. lol.), but wouldn't be surprised if Ablett gets it again, even though he only played about 15 games. The guy's an absolute freak of nature.

could this year by an opportunity for a forward to claim the award with no real stand out midfielder?

franklin stands out more than ever

I know that the 'teammates stealing votes' argument is often disproven but he's competing with votes against JPK and co. The Sydney 2014 team will get a lot of votes after Round 5ish but will the majority of them go to a key forward? Last one to win still remains Plugger two decades ago.

I think Selwood will win. I put a few dollars on Gray @$34 just before round 22, I'm thinking he'll only just make top 5 though, not enough form in previous years

The main question I have with Gray is this, how long before the umpires notice him? It can take a while sometimes.
