Drivers Championship

Rosberg's third consecutive finish in front of Hamilton has seen Nico take a 29 point lead in the Championship. Ricciardo's lead over Alonso for third was reduced following Red Bull's Austrian disaster and it'll be interesting to see who emerges out of the European leg of the Championship in 3rd position, with the Williams team adding some spice to the battle with their strong showing in Austria.

1 Nico Rosberg 165
2 Lewis Hamilton 136
3 Daniel Ricciardo 83
4 Fernando Alonso 79
5 Sebastian Vettel 60
6 Nico Hulkenberg 59
7 Valtteri Bottas 55
8 Jenson Button 43
9 Felipe Massa 30
10 Kevin Magnussen 29
11 Sergio Perez 28
12 Kimi Räikkönen 19
13 Romain Grosjean 8
14 Jean-Eric Vergne 8
15 Daniil Kvyat 4
16 Jules Bianchi 2

Constructors Championship

The Mercedes juggernaut continues to roll with the team scoring their 6th 1-2 finish in eight races so far. As I mentioned a couple of races ago the question is when, not if, Mercedes secure the title. Williams finally managed to turn a strong qualifying into a solid race result and they have moved into 5th in the title chase, ahead of McLaren. With Williams showing good qualifying and race pace, but seemingly beset with reliability problems it'll be interesting to see if they can continue to move up the rankings and challenge for the runner's up position.

1 Mercedes 301
2 Red Bull Racing-Renault 143
3 Ferrari 98
4 Force India-Mercedes 87
5 Williams-Mercedes 85
6 McLaren-Mercedes 72
7 STR-Renault 12
8 Lotus-Renault 8
9 Marussia-Ferrari 2

Tyre choices for the Britsh Grand Prix are the medium and hard tyre which is a divergance from the soft and hard compunds traditionally used a Silverstone. As always rain could come into the equation over the weekend and rain is forecast for both Saturday and Sunday.

Will Webber be there? If so Daniel son only has to Finnish last to increase his dominance over finger boy. (for those unaware or in denial when Webber attends a GP, Vettel fails to finnish)

So Vettel didn't finish a single race in the last 7 years?

Apparently the guy they passed was only going 38km/h. That probably got them off. Usually it's a slam dunk penalty.
Without seeing it I would have assumed something like that. So many people out doing different things on track in P1 a lot of the time.

True, but usually under a red flag everyone's going back to the pits at about the same speed. Dunno what Kvyat was doing going so slowly.

Lost? :p

And yeah thats why I found overtaking under reds to be strange, since everyone pretty much would cycle down and follow each other back around.
