Banter 2015 Free for All - opposition welcome. Alleged sighting of giants in Sydney's outer west! (p83)

Realised yesterday, banter threads not for me when against, Carlton and Essendon, too many good friends support these teams and apart from their bad taste in football teams hard to get serious.
But anything to do with the grey haired old man that doesn't know how to retire gracefully... well that is another thing altogether.

Finding it hard to get excited for this one. Carlton have gone from the team I hate most, to a team that I genuinely feel sorry for. Almost every single major decision they've made in the last 15 years has gone wrong. Even getting Judd meant they lost the only decent key forward they've had since the 90's

I can't even brag to my Carlton supporting mates & family. They've been through enough pain. I just have to pat them on the back patronisingly and say "you'll get us next time"...but we'd both know there's a better chance of Malthouse rooting his wife without the assistance of Viagra than seeing that happen

It's absolutely f***ed

You took a known dud and are laughing at us for him being a dud. Good one :thumbsu:
Former runner up B&F, worth taking a punt on for essentially free. If we'd actually given anything significant for him, then yeah I'd agree we stuffed up.
How's Daisy going? Worth every dollar of that $750k per year? :D

2 key forwards. They gave away Kennedy and Judd ensured Fev got the boot after being embarrassed on national TV during the infamous drunken 'pressure point' interview at the Brownlow count.

Recruiting Iced Vovo-Rainbow was clearly another strategy to emulate Collingwood. It's been well known for years that we have dibs on any funny named players.

Just another example of the prevalent Carltonwood mindset at the Scum headquarters.
Mick loves players with reproductive organs in their name.

"First order of business - I lost Ball, Goldsack and Sidebottom so I need Wood, Johnson and Dick. Make it happen!

Yah definitely.
I didn't want Daisy and I definitely didn't want Mick, with his talk of "11pm on the premiership clock" etc when we were hanging onto such superstars as Lucas and McLean...

We need an enthusiastic coach who can build a list around him but also balance the needs of the powerbrokers, members and administration. It's certainly not a job that I would want.

Umm...banter, right.....booo collingwood.

I posted on your board a while back that you guys need a young coach to basically start from scratch. Carlton, if they're smart (big if), need to copy the Hawthorn model verbatim. It's the only way forward for the Blues now. If they're idiots (possible), they'll keep Mick on.

I tend to agree. We have issues with our VFL side that the Hawks don't have though. I go to as many VFL games as I can and last year they were atrocious. There was no cohesion between the AFL listed players and the VFL players, the AFL players who were dropped to the seconds didn't want to be there and made it quite clear, etc. It's hard to develop the young ones when the VFL side is travelling so poorly.

Thankfully (for Carlton, I'm sure you don't give a *) that seems to be changing this year already. Webster (VFL coach) has been given instructions to follow Mick's game plan (and what a gem it is! :p) as much as possible and the team already seems like a much tighter and more effective unit.

Having said all that, at the end of the day there's a few powerbrokers who pull the puppet strings at Princes Park. I'm sure they will have input into who our next coach is.

My bad, was sitting in down in the barbers chair trying to finish the post.

Coz we get haircuts as Carlolton supporters :D
/thread. Close banter thread, no one can come back from this.

Roos not accepting the job screwed everything up for you guys.

I'd say the search for a coach began almost the second Mick was appointed truth be known. Don't be surprised if a replacement is basically ready as we speak. Hopefully for Carlton supporters' sake it's a good one.
