Wasn't it for disciplinary reasons that the club kept quiet?

Ah, I see the delusional James Hirdygirdy is now suing Essendon's insurer for $640K for the costs of Hird's appeals because they won't pay his legal bills. They say their contract with Essendon is for club heirachy who are defendants not litigants.

Hope he gets another thrashing in court AND has to pay the insurers costs! FFS, you think he'd give it away, both the litigation and coaching. How can that club expect to function with the Hird circus in full swing. No wonder half the Essendon supporters now want him out.
Signing Hird on as coach again would only cause more controversy when the club needed stability. Blind Fred could see that this was always going to happen, it's simply unbelievable that the Essendon higher ups still decided to go with him. If he was a coaching genius it would be somewhat understandable but his coaching claim to fame is being flogged by Carlton in an elimination final FFS.

Just what this game needs, more umpires. Discuss.

It was trialed in the NAB and iirc had some good results. Can't see the harm in trying in it a real game (especially when that game is meaningless... BL vs GC)

Even when they get it right I hate seeing frees paid from 60m away.

But the vibe seems to be more frees will be paid to ease congestion within the current rules - so more umps will help with that. We'll have to swallow it, I guess. :(

Isn't there a minimum number of games that have to be played at Etihad each season? Tigers should be good enough to beat those Norf rats anywhere.

Agreed. A beautiful gesture. Given the state of the AFL at the moment, it sure could use something like this.

Oh hello there 5 figure post count
