How rapt would you be to be drafted by us?
You know that if you put in the work you'll play senior footy....unless your name is Honeychurch.
And not just that, talking to Tom Williamson in the lead up, he said with the dogs draft history, if you were picked up, straight away you'd feel confident in your ability to warrant the pick.

Interesting stat... Norf's cliff look ominous

Dogs (17) games Vs North (39) games, but they had
ROBIN NAHAS which is a massive advantage.;)

Just goes to show how smashed the Dogs were by injuries the past few years. I'm pretty confident that had so many players not copped LTI's then the Dogs position on that list would be much lower.

Not necessarily, 2015 was a good year for injuries and we were up there in regards to kids playing games. Injuries had an impact this year but Beveridge likes to rotate players to keep the team fresh.

Shows how good our depth is as well

if you look at this deeper 4 players played in the premiership and played roles, 8 of them played in 2016 and 3 played in the VFL premiership side.

so not only have we got games into these draftees during this time we have built great great success around the club.

Forgetting how young we are anyway just looking at this group, you have no doubt that a high % will make it to be long term AFL players.

Cordy Collins
Williams Adams
Daniel Dunkley Hamilton
Dale.......McLean
....... ....... ......
....... Webb

It really is a good balance across the board, so when you look at our draft it really does round out this group and make it exciting to see them get that 40-60+ games under their belts. oh by that time (end of 2018) we will then be adding young West who will be ready to go.

Sam Fowler, Ben Ronke, Sam Walker, Mitchell Hinge, Brodie Romensky, Tristan Tweedie, Zach Sproule, Toby Pink. Or whichever complete unknown Dal likes, let's just go with that.

A number of players have been pre selected.. including Sproule and Fisher for GWS.. surprise surprise

They would have taken Macreadie in that way as well if Carltank didn't

MMM did a redo of the 2012 and 2013 drafts. Fair to say we have absolutely nailed it!

A key defender is required
I'd expect Lewis Young to be developed there - 'swingmen' at u18 level almost always end up in defence.

It's a bit different though. He hasn't played back much by the sound of it, it's just that he has the potential to play back reading into what both Young and Dalrymple said.

Yay, they have Macrae at 1. I have had countless shitfights with mates arguing he's better than Wines.

Presti was "a high leaping forward"
Harris/Lake a forward
Shoenmakers a forward
Fletcher Roberts played both ends
Hamling played both ends
etc

Most kids that show any potential get thrown forward in their junior days, those that make it as forwards at AFL level form a much shorter list (and very very few of those are taken outside of the first round).
Even Minson was drafted as a KPF.
