Collingwood wont win the flag in 2023 because

1. Other teams looked at the Carlton and Hawthorn game more so carlton game and will imply the same tactics say blue print to beat the pies
2. If they have to play in Brisbane week 1 of finals
3. Umpiring in the finals to manipulate to make sure the Pies lose

Why they will win the flag

1. Been number 1 on the ladder since round 1 must be doing something right been the pace setter for all of the season
2. Now have developed the depth and talent to cover most of its key players and have had alot of experience in doing it as well they have flexible list and they have shuffled it around nicely in 2023
3. Its time after heart aches of 2018 and 2019 and now with a new alot more professional regime in craig mcrae and its excellent recriuting and vastly improving players they are primed to take out the flag

Giants

Why they can?

1- Toby ******* Greene. 1 of if not the best player and Captain in the league.
2- Away form, doesn’t matter where they play they fear no ground.
3- The Tsunami, when on, is amazing to watch with its speed and effect and will damage any side and with our defenders being able to shutdown the best it’s effective.

Why they can’t?

1- Lack off a quality, healthy, key fwd.
Hogan is great but massively injury prone. Ricca seems moody, Cadman is a year or two away.
2- The tsunamis weakness is if it breaks down going forward opposition clubs can punish them fairly easy with all the Giants already screaming forward.
3- Giving away the early leads/starting slow and having a late run seems to be the thing, can’t chase down every lead as last weekend showed.

With Pies probably has already showed their hand already as in peaked already and its a case of downhill from here.

Cats:

PRO:

1. The personnel are not that different to the team that won it last year. Belief, ability is all there.
2. Possible additions of (fit) Parfitt, Menegola, Guthrie and Blicavs could lift the midfield out of its 2023 mediocrity.
3. Jeremy Cameron could recapture early season form to become a major factor.

CON:

1. Just have not played well this year generally
2. Too many players seem to be injured or just going with fitness.
3. No guarantee of even making the 8, if we do it will be 5th - 8th - we haven't won interstate this year (except WCE in gather round) and four consecutive wins against quality opponents would be a major departure from Geelong's 2023 narrative.

Can:
1. Still a lot of grand final experience in the side so know how to win big games, especially against the Pies and Brisbane
2. A trump card in Cameron who is well below his best at the moment but at his best can win us games even when the rest of the side is ordinary
3. There is a possibility if things fall our way that we wouldn’t have to travel interstate

Can’t:
1. Won’t finish top four and that will likely see us play red hit Carlton in the first week of finals if we make it
2. Our midfield is mostly trash at the moment. It is playing, as a group, good quarters here and there but can’t match the good midfields for a full match
3. Our best players are not at their best, or injured, at the moment. Hawkins will be back soon, Blicavs maybe longer, Guthrie likewise, and Danger and Cameron are below their best. We are relying on Stewart of our stars, and Miers/Atkins/Bruhn of the next tier. They’re all good players but they aren’t ‘step up and win you a comp’ good

1. The teams best can cause an upset to the majority of the comp.
2. Coach is all over the shop
3. Good midfield and decent forward line.

1. We aren't very good
2. Coach is all over the shop
3. Shocking backline

Yeah, because the AFL is just terrified of the cash-cow that a Collingwood premiership would produce.

Give us a spell. A month ago you're starting threads on them three-peating, and now they can't even win one.

We can win because:

1. Dusty
2. Mathematically possible
3. Geelong will give us a free ride to the SF if we make finals

Can’t win because:

1. No lynch
2. Too many young kids and too many oldies
3. Not enough wins in the bank and will probably miss finals.

1) Bont/Libba and the midfield become even more of a clearance machine and dominate territory/possession which goes a long way in finals
2) The top four (with the possible exception of Melbourne) look pretty flaky
3) Forward line is starting to click

However.......

1) I'm not sure we can dominate in this fashion against good teams, and even when we have our goal kicking can be atrocious
2) We're even flakier, and within games give up runs of goals that mean we've not beaten many teams of substance this year
3) The forward line is still young, and prone to getting in each other's way - and cannot prevent the ball walking out of there and exposing our pretty terrible defensive gameplan

TLDR - we could, but we almost certainly won't.

We can win if...

1) 16 other clubs are found to have breached the salary cap and are stripped of all their points (though with three games to go, they could still overhaul us).
2) 16 other clubs decide to catch the same flight and it crashes.
3) League-wide doping scandal.

We can't because...
1) we're s**t
2) See above
3) See above

For

1. Our forwardline
2. Our reliance on our top 5 players
3. Our finals experience over the last 2 years

Against

1. Our forwardline
2. Our reliance on our top 5 players
3. Our finals experience over the last 2 years

For
1. AFL changes their mind and identifies Port as the fairy tale team of 2023 with the armchair ride that comes with it.
2. We do a Steven Bradbury and dodge all the other chokers
3. We secretly hire Stephen Dank on a short term contract

Against
1. We have too many cripples and "dim witted" players in our side to progress
2. Our team is lead by a used car salesman who loves donuts
3. We will revert to our patented Hinkleyball game style

Can:
1. Quick midfield
2. Should have close to our best 22 available come finals (unlike the other top 4 teams)
3. We should be able to beat other top 4 sides in Adelaide (in light of Daicos injury) if we finish top 2.

Can’t:
1. Leaky defence
2. Ken has repeatedly failed in finals
3. We have no depth should injuries occur.

Why we will win the flag:

1. Talent
2. System
3. Form

Why we won't win:

1. Umpiring in interstate finals
2. Injuries
3. Can't think of a 3rd reason

I know its not my team but carlton wont win it because they would have blowen up their own tyres way too much come september and believe in all of their own hype too much get ahead of themselves and blow it in the elimation final
Geelong dont take the to old slow tag much but i think there just other teams better and this has come with time same goes to richmond good team but there are now better ones around.
Dogs double edged team kind of still think its 2016 and a caoch thats been there 1 or 2 season too long.
Crows can not win outside Adl.
Saints see dogs re inventing the wheel under ross
gws surprise packet of 2023 doing a freo of 2022 but game revoles around toby green will be found out come semi final
port and brisbane been up for years and years yet to make it even to the grand final kind of day ja vue feeling need to win at the mcg as well
melbourne depends on petracca gawn bailey fristsh and the fitness of oliver still got shades of 2021 about them kosi picket getting into form huge game v blues this sat
collingwood see port and brisbane be it 2021 2018 gf 2019 prelim 2020 semi all going backwards 1 step back pies know all too well what it is like to fail in september just due to the fact it is september never goes well last 2 flags were won in october
