I was one of his big advocates and it’s taken me a little bit to catch onto it.

But once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

I can cop him playing lockdown key defender, or to cover injuries, but that’s about it now.

Agreed, he's pulled out of 3 or 4 contests already in this game where a bit of defensive pressure or body contact was required.

Happens every time he plays too, regardless of the role. If we didn't need him for structure then his "bruise-free one effort specialist" style of play he keeps regressing back to would see him down in the VFL permanently.

Same thing happened at Adelaide for the record, had a run of 3-4 games of fairly easy intercept work off half back then folded badly at home against Carlton(?) in a much harder contested game of footy and was not seen again at AFL level, despite the Crows being plagued by injury to key backs for the entire season.

If he wants to have a serious future with us at AFL level then he heeds to harden up and find it within himself to put in a much better effort defensively in a big hurry.
