I think you'll find that this isn't just some vaccine that was thought up overnight. There was money being pumped in that allowed it to happen faster

The mRNA vaccines have been worked on in some capacity for the last 20-30 years,

Most of the speed with the vaccine has been around getting funding and running trials. Instead of waiting and waiting for funding the money has been flowing. All the regular checks and balances have been completed now that would for any other vaccination.

So your assumption that all the regular checks have been completed is so far wrong its almost comical.
The Dr who invented mRNA technology ( Dr Robert Malone) is the biggest advocate for saying this technology should not be used in humans because it is nowhere near safe. I will take his judgement over everyone elses.

Incorrect. a vaccine is anything that stimulates antibodies and immune system response. many of our vaccines don't give full immunity (ie aren't sterilizing vaccines). the flu vaccine is a vaccine even if it doesn't give you 100% immunity. there are actually very few vaccines that give full 100% immunity.

The TGA have approved it in the same way they approve any drug. it is not emergency use, TGA do not even have an emergency use category. you are parroting propaganda.

His judgement means nothing really. just because someone claims to have created the technology doesn't mean they are the fountain of all wisdom with it. Science is about setting hypothesis' and putting tests out that can either confirm the hypothesis or break it. He may have a hypothesis that it is unsuitable for use in humans. but all the studies so far have not shown that hypothesis to be correct.

In a general sense. long term side effects for drugs are either

1. From long term drug use. ie, long term use of lithium can have effects on kidneys (lithium toxicity)
or
2. evident in the weeks/month after the drug was administered. ie developing Guillain-Barre syndrome post flu vacc

We've been using this vaccine long enough to know that it's highly unlikely that there are any long term side effects other than the ones we've already found.

We also have been dealing with covid long enough to know the short & medium term effects of it. Long covid can be quite impactful to your day to day life.

Now you can use those 2 data points. safety of the vaccine and the impacts of covid to do a cost benefits analysis. this is the job of scientists/doctors/epidemiologists. this vaccine would not be pushed if the cost benefits analysis was way out of whack.

and ultimately if you're scared of the mRNA vaccines there's also a perfectly safe viral vector vaccine in Astra Zeneca (Vaxzevria)

My sister in law works in the hospital emergency ward. No way our hospitals in Tas are going to cope.these protesters screaming for their freedoms have no idea.

The experts, the medical health professionals, the scientists, the people with lots of letters after their names, those people, the ones that have worked tirelessly for the benefit of all in society.
Not people that get their info from YouTube and right wing nut job sites or influencers on social media etc.

Modelling the Victorian Roadmap

Burnet's COVID-19 mathematical modelling was commissioned by the Victorian Government to inform the Victorian Roadmap

There are two peaks predicted. It all depends on variables including vaccination rates, how people behave etc. The hope is that vaccination rates will ‘bend the curve’ and the numbers will drop during November. Then a second wave is expected after the lockdown rules are eased and we get out and about.

We will all have to become aware of risk assessment and risk management for some time.
