Listened to this every now and then since release and enjoyed it, but last week or two it's really popped for me. Top shelf. Matador a seriously good track.

I'm a big fan of FNM and all of Mike Patton's side projects (Mr Bungle, Tomahawk etc)

This album isn't their best, although i'll still gladly take it over the garbage that gets passed as music in 2015

Like any album you like, it grows on you.

Picked it up on release. Took me three listens to absolutely love it.

Stand outs are Sunny Side Up (gives me a "She Loves Me Not" vibe from AOTY) & Matador.

Cone of Shame was the first stand-out.

That said, I'm not sure it has the staying power of their other releases (but maybe that says more about my adhd attention-span for music in the digital-age?)..

It's a great album, with a couple of duds on it (like most FNM albums aside from Angel Dust). I was probably my favorite album of 2015, but I'm a massive FNM fanboi so it was always going to be hard to eclipse.

I'd probably rate the FNM Patton-era albums:

1. Angel Dust
2. King For A Day
3. Sol Invictus
4. Album of the Year
5. The Real Thing
