Pooran replaces Krunal as LSG VC

And Cummins set to replace Markram as SRH capt. I don’t like this. Markram has won back to back titles with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in rsa. And this would then be our 4th international captain in a row after Warner, Williamson, and Markram. And we have only 1 permanent Indian captain in the history of the franchise in Shikhar

Who WILL puff their chest out and miscue a lot of attempted slogs?
To be fair to Wade, he did look alright with the bat in that T20 series against India post World Cup late last year.

I keep writing him off at his age but his batting is still good enough.

Didnt get to see him with much of the bat in IPL 2023 and Gujarat didnt tend to use him,

Saha kept him out of the side...He rode the bench the entire tournament last year & didn't play a single game.

He should be an exciting watch although he is probably competing for the 3rd international batting spot with Stubbs. Not sure if you can play Warner , Stubbs and Fraser-McGurk in the same side.
Not sure why they went from a bowler to a batter, though with having Ponting as captain will see a heavy Australian influence. Like how Fleming is picking half of the NZ team right now at CSK

They also have Mitch Marsh in at 3.

Ponting's fetish for having Aussies at DC somewhat explains JFM but not replacing a bowler with a batsman who won't bowl. He might do well in a game at Bangalore or Mumbai where the boundaries are small but there are enough Australia brains over there to hone in on weaknesses he has. He'll have a field day if he can whack mercilessly through the on-side, a 4th stump line on a good length will cause him trouble and I doubt he has the technique to deal with that.

Im sort of getting my head over why they would look to hire Steve Smith as an IPL commentator. I think his thinking is a bit past the T20 use-by date. Apart from being well known, im not sure even the fans will take what he says with all that much seriousness.

Sure by all means get him as a test or ODI commentator (if the calendar ever allowed that) but i just dont see much value in it. Is he possibly looking to go down the pathway as a coach ?

I remember an article from last year saying that Smith was looking to move to Major League Cricket from year year onwards, so my assumption would be that he was planning to end his international career this year, and play and few seasons of hit and giggle cricket
