I don't think this thread will be for everyone.

15 hours in and it still hurts. I started off numb, hoping it was all a sh!tty nightmare that I'd wake from.

Then angry that someone with so much potential, knowledge and talent was taken from us before he could finish what he started. It seems so unfair that Phil barely even had time to get going.

Then lost. That someone who was so driven, so powerful, so respected, who you believed could take on any challenge and WIN, was struck down in his prime and shown to be a mere mortal like the rest of us.

Anyway, people grieve in different ways. For mine, I find music helps. Rightly or wrongly all I want to feel now is sadness and misery, although I'm sure that will change with time.

So, I thought it may be useful for likeminded brothers and sisters in the BigFooty community to post what songs they might be listening to when reflecting on all that Phil provided to our game and our lives, and his sad passing.

Hallelujah

Life is changing
I can't go on without you
Rearranging. I will be strong
I'll stand by you

(You were fighting everyday)
(So hard to hide the pain)
(I know you never said goodbye)
(I had so much left to say)

One last song
Given to an Angel's Son
As soon as you were gone
As soon as you were gone

I have a new life now
She lives through you
What can I do
Feel so alone now
I pray for you
We still love you

I can't believe you're gone

I can't believe

More soothing than I expected, but good nonetheless!
I haven't listened to classical in ages but a couple of programs I've watched recently had this tune in it. Has stuck in my mind of late and has a calming effect. Immortal Beloved with Gary Oldman is also a great movie.

I had a dream that all of time was running dry
and life was like a comet falling from the sky

I woke so frightened in the dawning, oh so clear
How precious is the time we have here

Are we not wise enough to give all we are?
Surely we're bright enough to outshine the stars
The human kind gets so lost in finding its way
but we have a chance to make a difference til our dying day

And you might pray to God, or say it's Destiny
But I think we are just hiding all that we can be

Are we not wise enough to give all we are?
Surely we're bright enough to outshine the stars
The human kind gets so lost in finding its way
but we have a chance to make a difference til our dying day

All I'm really asking is: what are we doing here?
Are we just killing time? Just living year to year?

In this big world, no one else can play our part
Ain't it time to just wake up and give it all

Are we not wise enough to give all we are?
Surely we're bright enough to outshine the stars
The human kind gets so lost, and in finding its way
we have a chance to make a difference til our dying day

we have a chance to make a difference til our dying day
we have a chance to make a difference til our dying day

Last night I was listening to the Jeff Buckley clip of Hallelujah when I was reading the 'Changes thread' for this weekends game.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be.

I cant be bothered linking it and listening to it would be too much for me personally (mum chose for her funeral) but the song I was here by Beyonce has some wonderful lyrics.
