At least we aren't Essendon or the Dogs.
Nope. We're still a bigger joke.
Til we start winning we are rabble.

If Mark Neeld had been pissing off guys like Beamer, Sylvia etc. but had been developing kids like Stringer, Macrae, Hrovat, Bontompelli etc while doing it I would have wanted the club to tell the older guys to **** off.
I'd MUCH rather be us right now. Of course we need to start winning more, but they're in shambles, like we were. For the first time in a while we're not the biggest basket case.Nope. We're still a bigger joke.
Til we start winning we are rabble.
Bulldogs CEO slamming our pick 3 in his press conference. What a joke.
Shows where they're at.Bulldogs CEO slamming our pick 3 in his press conference. What a joke. Gave no objective and intelligent reason either. Out of all the things to focus on in this press conference, that's not one of them.
Shows where they're at.
Another coach who seemed to have an alright year sacked because of senior players, interesting times, the players certainly weilding more power lately - even non free agents are selecting clubs of choice mid contract. AFLPA too powerful now?
I reckon it may well be.Everyone has to be Ken Hinkley within 2-3 years or they are fired
Does anyone actually think a different coach would have the bulldogs playing much better?
You hope this isnt their Bailey moment where they look back and realise he was doing a decent job with the troops at his disposal
Sacking or forcing the resignation of McCartney would be a weak decision, showing a player is above the club.
It's weak, but it is much easier to sack and replace a coach than it is to get new players in.
McCartney was 'too demanding' of the playing group?!?
It's not going to help. McCartney was fine, he was making progress. Losing Griffen would have hurt but it also would have presented an opportunity to really unify the group and say that they will not let one player destabalise them, even if that means losing a captain and champion of their club.
Now they can have Griffen stay for a year and if they band-aid doesn't hold he'll piss off for nothing next year, and they'll have to attempt to learn a new regime under a new coach.
This all bodes well for us progressing next season on field, we are stable committed and will be more talented again next year Whilst other middle rung clubs panic we appear to have clear future set out
Its brilliant for Goodwin, Roos lays the groundwork and avoids the pressure of building whilst Goodwin gets to step in as we should be about ready to challenge for finals football when we should be primed and settled with a gameplan and philosophy
Or so you thought, until this time next year Herbert Lambsanga criticises the Roos / Goodwin axis of evil leading to the board sacking them, Captain Jones joins St Kilda via free agency, Hogan requests a trade home to Perth and ends up in Brisbane and Dom Tyson retires from football to pursue a career as the perfect hair model. Mitch Clark is linked with the now vacant coaching role.
Surely multiple newspapers will be running with the 'Tail Wagging the Dog' headline on this one?I reckon it may well be.
The tail is still wagging the dog.
Telling stat
