Think some are under-estimating the Bulldog's woes with key defenders. With the injuries/suspension to Roughhead/Morris they played three talls - Tom Young, Tom Williams and Micheal Talia. For some unknown reason, the Bulldogs insisted on playing Young and Williams on Waite and Henderson, leaving Michael Talia as the spare. Decent key forwards should have a picnic against this defence.

Freo moved OK. Sydney were better at contested ball. Doubt that the heat affected Freo's performance.

but in comparison to us, it makes absolute perfect sense that Freo would recover a lot better, because they're used to it.

at 3 qtr time not one docker had an ice vest on last week, and there would have been a dozen of our blokes wearing them, Joe looked like he was melting

I agree that Freo should recover better, so it appears to be an invalid argument, that Freo's performance was affected by the previous week's heat. It helped the Swans that Franklin got hold of McPharland, whereas we could only offer up Kyle Hardingham.

Definitely a massive weakness there, and one that needs to be addressed soon.

I was impressed with Marcus Bontempelli as well. With his physical attributes, if he's actually any good at footy (which he seems to be; very smooth) he could be a top 10 player in the comp. A 193cm midfielder who moves like a midfielder not a tall is a sight to behold.

Think your underestimating both Lach Henderson and Jarred Waite. At there best, they could kick 10 goals between them. Think Williams, Talia & Morris is still competent enough.

Waite has got 5 or more goals in his career 6 times, and Henderson got 5 for the first time on the weekend, you would have to be a pretty weak defence to let those 2 get 10.

Williams would be better forward with Roughead in defence.

Far out!

Stats are less as inspiring as output. Seems it really is potential > output..

I rate Henderon highly.. Would have him ahead of Ambrose in our line up (providing his tank is big enough :D) but the bloke can play. Waite's best always seems to come out against the Bombers.

Waites 7 against us last year was the only time he has more than 5 goals in a game.

it's quite disgraceful how the field umpire always encourages the goal umpire to not back in his judgement.

Guthrie is becoming a super little player... and Gibbo still complaining about being held
