So you haven't been here much over the years then.
They’ve got precious little to celebrate over the recent past. I guess they need to try and find some fun somewhere (although some have a rather warped idea of what constitutes “fun”).

And willing to bet many more post weekend apologies from the AFL but the game’s done and no reversing.

Just wait for it to happen in a final or the GF like it did today then it will really hit the fan.
Can only hope that if it does happen in a final or Grand Final then it’s Carlton who’s on the losing end.

I’d say if GWS had kept most of their players that went to other clubs (including ours), there’s a high likelihood they’d have one or more Flags in their keeping by now.
and if patton and Boyd had of remained and kicked on. Had some ridiculous start up draft picks. Taranto, Hopper, Treloar, Shiel, to add to list of players they had.

The dog’s midfield slaughtered the cats in all stats yet somehow the cats won.

I don’t think there is one cats midfielder who had 20 possessions.
A brilliant defence led by Tom Stewart.
A brilliant forward line led by Jeremy Cameron.
A superior game plan and superior coaching.

That'll be the Cats all year. Their midfield is ordinary, but they're outstanding at each end of the ground.

It'll probably be the Dogs all year too - winning around stoppage but not elsewhere.

Surely, we can trust umpires to make a subjective decision as to whether the forward was actually impeded by the hand or arm across his stomach. We do that with shoves in the back now after ditching that infuriating hands in the back rubbish. The same applies to jumper tugs. Some are so minimal and ineffectual and are literally a momentary positioning move by the defender when they engage. On many occasions the forward who gets the free doesn't even know he was infringed.
Especially since jumpers are made to fit players skin-tight, literally any level of friction against it pulls the jumper taut and makes it look like a grab.

to be fair, i'd suck it up and show up after a loss too. these days i'm just interested in reading about how the umpires handed our latest one. :thumbsu:

You support an irrelevant club lmao :tearsofjoy:

this is the first thread i visit after a win. :thumbsu:
We’ve got a whole thread dedicated to Carlton and the inevitable misery you have, and will experience in the future.

It’s our happy place.

You got the 4 points, but once again exposed for being too slow to run it, not good enough kicks to slice through a defence and no small forwards that are AFL standard. Totally reliant on a couple of guns taking pack marks with your slow entries - it's not going to get it done when it matters.

My money would be on you guys replacing the Dees as the straight set specialists - but I don't think you're good enough to finish top 4.

Good match last night however I must admit to being perplexed how Tom Stewart can seemingly waltz around unopposed rarely having to directly compete against anyone. I know I’m old and out of date but I found myself getting irritated with the constant adulation and wishing the Dogs would do a Billy Frampton on him.
I understand this is how the modern backline works, including ours but I hope the trend reverses at some point or forward lines get better at combatting it.

I'm happy to see the Blues up there undefeated and growing more arrogant and cockier by the week. I like being the underdog or even better, considered to be an also ran. I think that's the role the Pies have relished for as long as the club has existed. Shove it up the haters and doubters. Pies.

(Please start by beating the bloody Hawks tomorrow!)

i'd rather win every single week. i'd rather see other teams saying in interviews that it is an impossible task to beat us. I'd love to see us publicly humiliate opponents every week. It would bring me great pleasure...

Teams are getting better at dissecting zones and it'll shift back to man on man. I hope it doesn't happen too soon though, as we're built for the current game and are a chance in the current game.
