League Rules:

- Each team will have an extra bench position on their roster, which they can utilise when they suffer a long term injury. The injury will need to keep the player out for at least 5 games. Once the player has missed 5 games in a row, the player is eligible to be placed on the injured list and replaced by another player. Each manager will have to notify the league when they are going to utilise their extra bench position. When the player returns from injury, the manager will have to notify the league who they are dropping to get the injured player back on their roster.

- Scoring is head-to-head, as per last year.

- There will be a maximum of 50ish allowable moves for the season, depending on what Yahoo allow.

- You can trade in the trade period, throughout the draft period, as well as the regular season, though there will be late season deadline as always. Trades can be for players and picks. However trades have to be equal for the trade and draft period, otherwise teams rosters will be short. For example you cannot trade LeBron James for Pick 2 and 25, however you could do LeBron James and Pick 150 for Pick 2 and 25.

- Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
- Stat Cats: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL BLK, TO

Keeper Rules:
1. A players value is the round they were orginally drafted at (so all players taken in round 1 have a value of 1)

2. Value does not effect trades in season ...it only comes into play once you choose to retain a player on your list for the next season.

3. When a team chooses to keep a player they must of course pay a price - this price is the previous season draft round + 1 spot up (A player taken round 10 will cost you your round 9 pick)

4. The only exception to this rule is if you do not have a higher pick - you are allowed to pay the same price (ie if I keep my round 3 pick from last season but I have traded for a round 3 pick last season that I want to keep also......I give up my round 2 choice and my round 3 choice)

5. First round draft picks can obviously only cost you a first round draft pick

6. A players value is not lost when delisted ...I delist LeBron ...he carries his value forward as a round 1 selection

7. The following season - value is based on the previous seasons value not the original season

8. If a player is not drafted at all by any team in a season but is then picked up on the WW once the draft is officially complete - his value is 13

9. If I want to keep 3 previously undrafted WW choices the following seasons it will cost me pick 13, 12 and 11

10. The bottom six sides from 2011/12 can keep a maximum of 4 players, the top six sides from 2011/12 can keep a maximum of 3 players.

11. For the 2013/14 season, keepers will be reset and we will have a full draft. Keeper system to be reviewed for the 2014/15 season.

Basically it is not complicated -

- Each player has a value (expressed as the round taken)

- Each season every player retained looks for a increase (value + up 1 round)

- Sometimes you get lucky and if you cant increase (as the round spot is already filled) ....you can pay the same value as last season (ie the round you chose the player)

- You can not offer a player less

Draft Order:

- Will be a straight linear non-snaking draft (i.e. 12th through to 1st for each round of the draft)
- Based on the positions after the playoffs for the top 6

Just waiting for confirmations from Hammy and Tigerfan now.

Looks like 5 keepers with no restrictions is the popular choice for the keeper rule!

I'd be keen to keep it settled a while if thats the verdict. Can't say that I focused my team on having 5 keepers with last years draft/ season.

Yeah there is no great rush at this stage. Bit of time still to discuss the plan of attack for next year.

Doesn't keeping 5 players favour heavily the teams already at the top of the table?

There will be slim pickings in the FA pool with that many players already off the table.

I finished with the spoon last year and I voted for five. Three sucked, I like keeping a few players. The more players I can live vicariously through for a large portion of their careers, the better.

Can I make a suggestion?
As the majority of Managers would like more keepers but some have reservations about the fairness of the change, how about a staged transition?
So next season the bottom teams get 5 keepers, the top half 3. Then in the following season the remaining teams transition to 5?
It could even happen slower than that with 4/3, then 5/4 followed by 5 for all in year 3.
Fair?
