There we have it folks, a full (almost) comprehensive list of all guys out of contract. If people could point me in a direction of the Port Adelaide contracted guys and the North Melbourne guys that'd be greatly appreciated and we can update this to ensure it comprehensively covers every club.

Thanks guys

(note: i realise i may have some incorrect information but will ensure it is updated when you let me know what is and is not correct)

note: would like it if the poster can link an article or tweet to the relevant player re - signing to ensure a link can be applied to player x.

Dan Menzel - http://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2014-06-19/cats-stick-behind-menzel
Nathan Vardy signed a one year extension at the same time as Menzel but can't find the link.
James Kelly - http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au...the-geelong-cats/story-fnjuhrxq-1226942014131
Josh Cowan - Announced by club he will be at the club in 2015 - yet to be decided if Rookie or senior ( injured)

A question needing clarification ... thanks in advance .

Can a player taken in the draft move clubs after his first year ?

Assuming both clubs are happy with a deal , is this possible under AFL rules ?
Yes, GWS did it with Hombsch to Port Adelaide after their first season

Some posters are funny. From 2010 the Roos have not lost any players to the expansion raid or free agency. A rare achievement and clearly a club that handle their players very well.

Some not so well run clubs have lost up to 5 players in 1 year.
Yes North did well in retention, but a lot of your list had no xfactor about it, or young players seen to have elite long term potential. Perhaps if North did then they'd be top 4 and not in the middle bracket fighting for finals most years.

They went hard at some of our players. Lets see how far off top 4 we end up. The season has some way to go.

End of the day you can have all the X factor in the world but when your season is over by round 10 it counts for nothing.

Coach? You have a good coach and sit on the same amount of wins - so is your list the problem?
Our list isn't quite there yet (forward line). If we swapped coaching panels you'd be entrenched in the top 4 and we'd be out of the 8

It's not the coach it's definitely your list a lot of your players are mentally soft when their behind they give up on games and they can hardly blame youth
No, it's definitely the coach. Brad Scott is one of the worst coaches in the AFL. Give that list to Longmire, Lyon, Hinkley, Roos or Clarkson and they're comfortably top 4.

You over rate coaches. Thompson has done no better than Hird who is no better than Scott. The cattle drive the how good a coach is.

Look at the difference between Freo under Harvey and Freo under Lyon, with relatively similar lists. Brad Scott is about Harvey's level.

Pagan at the Roos - Pagan at the Blues
Malthouse at the Pies - Malthouse at the Blues.
Thompson at the Cats - Thompson at the Bombers

IMO - the cattle is more important than the coach. But this is something we will have to agree to disagree on.

Both are equally important. A good list with a poor coach is just as bad as the reverse.

I don't think our list is top 4 - especially with the injuries we have had this year. Our depth is poor. If Scott is good enough to defeat Hawks, Freo in WA, Swans in Syd and Port he is getting there.

Your list is good enough, Scott's just a poor coach. Using Port as a reference? They won that because Port had 1 player on the bench, not because Scott outcoached Hinkley.

If you can him for the losses he gets credits for the win. We have gone from 10th to 6th with our worst injury run in a very long time. I have no issue with him continuing until the end of 2016. I think he did well changing our run and gun game to a more defensive game. He still needs to work on it some more as our losses have been poor.

Anyway not sure this is the thread to debate Scott's coaching. What he has done is keep all our players and also bring in one of the recuits of the year. He has the players believing.
