Port's trading history

Thats because its wrong.

Its how it was notated for the AFL's rules, but was reliant on the Motlop & Pickett deals.

Basically, its an incomplete resource that makes it pretty useless. For example, in 2004 we receive 1st, 2nd & 3rd round picks for Carr...the way it has been notated, it says we traded Carr for a 1st round pick only....and somehow the 2nd & 3rd ones that we on-traded were directly credited to their final destination. In fact, it says we trade pick #45 for Peter Walsh outright, when in reality we got him in return for offering Melbourne a two-spot pick upgrade.

Worthless resource.

i was gonna say, first round pick for Lonie would of been ridiculous (i didnt mind Lonie) but still

Had a look over what may have been one of the most lopsided trades in our clubs' history. pick #14 to Hawthorn for Nathan Lonie. He was the kind of player, an outside runner and long kicker that Mark Williams felt we needed at the time but to pay pick 14? They got Grant Birchall.
When we got him he had played 5 games in 64 seasons at Hawthorn and he had been taken originally at #58 in the 2000 draft. He played 40 games for us in 3 years and while he never had disposals in single figures while he played for us his best was 25.

Wait, so you bumped this 5 year old thread to post something that is refuted three posts above yours?

Blink twice for yes.
