Very tall backline with Blanck, DGB, Sicily and Jeka.

My guess would be

Blanck - Lynch
Jeka - Riewoldt
DGB - Cumberland
Sicily floating
Hardwick - Bolton

This is probably the last time Shiels runs out at the MCG. Thanks for everything you’ve given Hawthorn over the last decade. He couldn’t have played his role during the three-peat any better. He also performed well during the finals and in big games. Pick 34 in the 2008 draft. Talk about getting good value.

That's a particularly small half forward line!

Moore at CHF 🤣. Has shades of our former giant CHF, one Paul Puopolo

Really happy to see all of Blanck, DGB and Jeka in the side.

It’ll be fascinating to see how/if they gel together in defence. It’ll be a massive bonus if they have chemistry and we can play them all at the same time.

Don’t read the Griffin Logue thread on the draft board.

According to the know-it-all Essendon nuffie meth-flog(as Minerboy once dubbed him 😂), Hawthorn have no tall defenders coming through, have one of the worst defences in the comp, and desperately need to trade for Logue.

Callow, Howe and Saunders all named in the final team for Box Hill. CMac to be the sub. Assuming one of the other emergencies will pull out early to be the travelling emergency.

Saunders has now put himself in the frame to make his debut in Round 23 against the Bulldogs next week. It was nice seeing Lynch playing well. He showed no signs of being rusty.

His speed is excellent. When I watch him play forward he does chase etc but he looks more at home on the wing, which is where he played today. It’s worth taking a look at him at afl level to see if he can make the jump up in level and still perform but it will have to be on the wing.

Saunders played both wing and forward this afternoon and looked more than handy in both positions.
