To anyone who was at Sandy today - how was Sicily scoring his goals? Strong leads and marks, mobile running goals, long or short kicks, etc.

Seniors final scores;

Box Hill 14.17.101 defeated Sandy 11.12.78

Goals; Sicily 5, Grimley 3, P. McEvoy 2, Anderson 1, Lawlor 1, Miles 1, Lock 1.

Best; Sicily, Simpkin, Collins, Howe, Litherland, Heatherley.
Good to see kiwi Kurt named in the best players. Howe also.

And a win never goes astray.

Sicily marks very strongly for a medium forward. He also has filled out a bit. Not unlike Tony Hall with a bit more pace.
I saw my first BHH game this year and was quite impressed. Sandy had the wind in the first quarter kicking to the northern end and controlled the game. After that BHH were on top and won comfortably.
Sicily certainly put his hand up for next week. Litherland was good but his kicking lacks a bit of creativity.
I was hoping to see a bit more from Anderson, Woodward and O'Rourke.
Grimley played a reasonable game and Mirra is a consummate defender.
I enjoyed the game and will get to another one soon.

Got a bit distracted after half time as I met up with some friends but I thought Heatherley was terrific in defense, probably the best game I've seen him play. He has really come on in leaps and bounds this year.

Good win by Box Hill and helped ease the pain from last night a bit :$

Hey everyone, just my summary of the game:

Sicily was fairly quiet until the 2nd quarter when Hawks isolated the forward line and he kept leading to the left half forward flank and all his goals were set shots. The ones he missed were gettable but was a good day. He had about 8 set shots in that 3rd quarter. Didn't really take any contested grabs.

Grimley took 2 fantastic contested marks inside 50 and in general had a good one

Simpkin was solid as always

O Rourke as well did fine without being flashy.

Jed was quiet but took probably the best speccy I have ever seen in my entire life over a pack of 5.

Woodward was a contested beast as per usual. Lots of tackles and hard ball gets and couple contested marks.

Tim O Brien barely did anything except last quarter got a couple of grabs.

Dallas didn't do much.

Teia Miles had a great game. Even took contested marks and really looks like a Hawthorn player. Kicked a sealer at the end of the game as well.

Daniel Howe as well was fairly flashy and looks a likely kind. He's a really decent strong midfielder who can break tackles and looks classy kind of like Sicily.

Pittonet struggled against Holmes but like last game competed hard and went for lots of tackles.

Heatherley was huge in the last quarter. Picture Brian Lake in GF 2013 last quarter where he plucked everything and settled the match.

I think that's it. All in all a good win when at the start of the game looked like it was gonna be a long day.

Oh and Litherland didn't do anything too special. I knew I'd miss someone!

For person who is much maligned for his efforts week in week out in here I have to say grimmers had his best game for a long time. Really put in four qtrs. The thing i liked about today was the effort at contest. It was there. A 4 qtr effort and playing for the team. It didn't matter that he wasn't getting the glory he was shepherding, chasing, tackling and blocking. Still kicked his 3 and played well in the ruck. Thats 3 weeks in a row now that Grim has been in our best and i for one would like to say Kudos to the young man. Why has it taken him so long? I just hope he sustains it. He can be an exciting player when he is playing like he has for the last 3 weeks.

A couple of other players of note from the game were Jed who was the first qtr specialist this week. He was throwing his body around and took an absolute speccy on the wing coming from 5 deep. Didn't do much after that. The game got hot physically in around the end of the 1st leading into the 2nd Enter Sicily it was as if the kid was waiting for it. He could have 7 or 8 today missed 3 set shots from exactly the same position his second qtr was dominating and took the game away from Sandy. Kicked another couple in the 3rd.

Great win by box hill on to next week

Don't really share all of the hype being praised on Sicily. I've watched him quite a bit now and for mine he's a one trick pony - good mark and good kick that's about it. Not overly quick, too small to be a key forward and pseudo tough guy which I think distracts him from his game at times.

Don't want this post to be too negative but really disappointed with O'Brien again today. Has some serious serious ability but goes missing for too often. Of all the kids at box hill, the only ones that look like being future afl players are Howe, Miles, Anderson and Heatherly. I like Brand but his shoulders are killing him so jury's out. Jury also out on O'Rourke, at this stage probably would have been better off keeping our first pick, handful around that mark are showing more in one season than orouke is showing in over two seasons. Guys like Woodward, Litherland and Simpkin show terrific heart and effort but lack the necessary disposal skills to figure in Clarkson game plan.

Interesting take yet he took a contested pack mark over two 6 ft 6 blokes (4 in the pack) and then turned on the jets to lead one way and then run 40 meters to take a mark in the forward line at pace. Exciting player and i was behind the goals he was kicking to in the 2nd had a pretty good view of his forward work. TOB could learn a bit from him to be honest. But he is inconsistent as kids can be but hard not to be excited by what you see

Seriously?....So in a single quarter of footy, a 20 year old kid has 7 shots on goal, kicks 3.4 & turns the game on it's head....And your not impressed?

I'm glad Howe and miles keep impressing, for onlookers was he mainly used through the middle today ??? I'm worried about o Rourke he just seems very vanilla nothing special about him for such a high draft pick and 3rd year in the system I would of thought he would be in the bests more times then not
