We blew our chance to advance past Arsenal and pressure Liverpool at the top. Our early play was dreadful, but we started Lee Roche after Giggs couldn't get up for the clash. Beckham and Scholes picked up early knocks and weren't in the thick of the action, and our passing game just wasn't working. Mellberg struck, and the red machine cranked into gear.

The passing game started to work, and we were peppering the Enkleman goal, but nothing would go in, including another Beckham shot hitting the woodwork (there seems at least one in every game). Forlan struck with a header and the boys went nuts, and piled even more pressure on the Villa goal, but Enkleman stood tall and a disappointing point at home may have saved Taylor's hide.

So much for Arsenal being unbeatable, huh Arsene? :D

Haven't seen the game, but it seems that we are creating the chances - surely someone will get a belting from us sooner or later. However, I'm not happy at another 2 dropped home points.

Arsenal, well, three losses in a row, one of them being in Europe, but we've seen it all before with Manchester United. A two or three week blip, and then normal service will resume.

Gee....it's just like the 80s all over again. Did they bring George C**tney out of retirement or something?

Another good night for us - all of a sudden a 4 point lead! I'm still in shock that Forlan scored, surely there will be some sanctions against Aston Villa for allowing this?

I thought Viduka was going to be dropped? El Tel is hardly working his magic.

Thanks heaps Blackburn Rovers - now 4 points clear on top!! :D

Manchester City - I was going to tip them!! It just goes to show you should always go with your first instinct... oh well.

Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool, easy tips. :D

Manche$ter United - are they GONE already?? :D

Leeds - tipped them and all I can say is Alan Smith you absolute waste of space!! :(

Go Reds!!

Went to the All-Star Cafe at Crown last night so I could watch both the Liverpool-Tottenham and Arsenal-Blackburn games simultaneouly on the big screen.

27 shots to 5. Twenty-seven friggin shots to 5, and lose by a goal. Talk about frustrating. Credit to Blackburn in the second half, but we should have been a couple up at half time.

Bit like a Baseball team leaving mean stranded on base inning after inning after inning.

Love it, Liverpool 4 pts clear with 27 games to go. It's all over now, let's not play the last remaining games.

As for Alan Smith, if he was a waste of space, then why isn't he playing for Liverpool? His reputation is costing him, he can't seem to do anything without getting a card.

Catman,

I didn't say it was all over did I??? Sure, I am wrapped that we're 4 points clear on top but Arsenal are a great team and there's a hell of a long way to go this season.

Just for the record, I still believe Arsenal are the ones to beat.

Alan Smith isn't playing for Liverpool because he would struggle to even get a game for the Liverpool reserves let alone our first team ahead of Owen, Baros, Diouf or Heskey.

His reputation is not costing him... his discipline (or lack of) and the fact he has no brains is what's costing him!!
