He's an incredible actor. IMO one of the best going around, but underrated due to the fact he mostly does motion capture which people don't seem to acknowledge as proper acting. Which is ludicrous.

People talk about Gollum, which was amazing, but for me his role in Planet of the Apes is his best work so far.

Agreed, that film blew me away. Had very low expectations going into it but was very impressed by Serkis in particular.

I hope they get these right. The original trilogy was a huge part of my childhood growing up. Episode 1 was a massive let down.

should learn from the prequels and not use so much CGI. too much CGI (as in 90% of the film) ruins any chance these movies working.

Made them feel too artificial. Hopefully they shoot more on location.

On an semi-unrelated note, the new sequel Jurassic World will go back to animatronics and less CGI for it's Dinosaurs. Too bad it has such a listless cast. No Alan, Malcolm etc.
