Guys just wondering what your starting 22 might look like at this point in time. I know theres still much water to flow under the bridge before players are locked in - but do any of you guys have an idea at least what yr starting 22 might look like at this stage?

Purely speculative, especially as I'm not a supporter, but I would have thought something like this:

B - Brown, Bock, Hunt
HB - N Krakoeur, Coad, Harbrow
C - Swallow, Rischitelli, Sewell
HF - Bennell, Toy, A Krakoeur
F - Day, N Ablett, Stanley
Foll - Fraser/Hale, Ablett, Brennan
Inter - Smith, Armitage, Harris, Matera

Probably quite wrong, but my thoughts.

I posted this on the other thread:

K. Hunt M. Coad N. Krakouer
C. Brown N. Bock J. Harbrow
D Swallow D. Harris J. Brennan
S. Day C. Dixon M. Weller
J. Fraser? B. Miller? B. Matera

Foll: Z. Smith G. Ablett M. Rischitelli

IC: T.McKenzie S. Iles H. Bennell J. Toy

A few threads like this...

Harbrow Coad Brown
Krakouer Bock Toy
Brennan Harris Swallow
Bennell Dixon McKenzie
Hale (?) Day Matera

Foll: Fraser Ablett Rischitelli

I/C: Iles Weller Armitage Hunt

Will be interesting to see if we cant pick up a KP forward , how Dixon and Day would go in that role , may have to pick up a Brad Miller to help those boys out.

Picked this team based on who we already have as confirmed plus Jared Brennan and the acknowledged top three in the draft (Swallow, Bennell and Sam Day). Still need another established ruckman and a couple more with AFL experience, especially forwards / KPPs.

FB: J. Toy / M. Coad / J. Hutchins
HB: J. Harbrow / N. Bock / C. Brown
C: N. Krakouer / G. Ablett / T. McKenzie
HF: J. Brennan / C. Dixon / D. Harris
FF: B. Matera / S. Day / R. Liddy

Fol: Z. Smith / M. Rischitelli / D. Swallow

I/C: S. May / H. Bennell / S. Iles / M. Weller

E: L. Russell / D. Stanley / H. Jolly / R. Thompson

Possibly already in the top 3 fastest sides in the AFL together with the Dogs and Collingwood?

Very nice on-ball rotation already with Ablett, Rischitelli, Brennan, D. Swallow, M. Weller, J. Harbrow, D. Harris and S. Iles. Not to mention other possible draft picks in up to half of Caddy, Smith, Heppell, Atley, Polec and/or Gaff.

Just needs the experience that will come with 2 - 3 seasons and LOOK OUT ;)

That looks like quite a devastating team from the outset. In a few years, you guys will be pretty awesome. As you've stated, you haven't even put in the low draft picks from 5 onwards. You could have Heppell on the half back line, or Polec, Smith, Gaff in the middle or a ruck. Quite a formidable initial list when you add 5 or so first rounders to it.

this is gonna be quite scary in 2 years time.

No Nablett or campaigner?

Would prefer to play those already mentioned above these two early on. Karmichael still needs some more work and match experience - depending on his form in the pre-season / ressies he could get a game later on - definitely has the build to add a bigger body to the side. Nathan Ablett hasn't signed with us just yet as far as I know. Same again - could get a game depending on form displayed. We need to put as much game-time into the kids as possible.

With Fraser signing today would move one of the interchange to the emergencies.

There's a heap more talented kids I've seen play that I couldn't fit in e.g. Liam Patrick; Alik Magin; Joey Daye; Michael Gugliotta; Roland Ah Chee; Lewis Moss; Jack Stanlake; Jake Crawford. Very difficult to place them until we've seen how they go against seasoned AFL opposition and know who's on the final list. The NAB Cup should give us all a better indication. Can't wait :thumbsu:

I saw Nablett play in the last game of the season for GC and he was clearly one of your best players.

Led up to the wings, took 4-5 really strong pack marks and set up 2 or 3 goals. By all reports though it was his only really good game all season.

By all reports that was his best game , for a lot of it last year played like a flog , if not for his name he would be gone , heres hoping Gazza can knock some form into him.
