One of the weirdest illusions that hawthorn supporters have at the moment is that there is a lump sum of money available for them to recruit a big free agent at the end of 2015, with Dangerfield and Cotchin being the names thrown around.

Simply put there is no money.

Hawthorn are at a high % of their salary cap spending. Money just doesn't appear in the cap. There was an illusion that Hawthorn had freed up 800K a year through players taking pay cuts for Buddy to stay. When that didnt occur that money went to the players who are still there such as Mitchell, Roughead, Bruest. Lewis just signed for 3 years and Mcevoy was brought in on decent money.

There is no way Hawthorn will be landing a "big fish" recruit at the end of 2015 unless Hodge, Burgoyne and Mitchell all retire
Who have they front loaded then? Lewis?
You know so much about Hawthorn, you tell us
Either way its not enough to get a big fish recruit. Plenty of meloburne clubs have a lot more in the bank including Geelong and Collingwood
Not only are you an expert on Hawthorn, you're also an expert on Geelong & Collingwood.
Yet you support Freo

Hmmmmmmm.

What's your source on this.

Danger will probably stay at Adelaide. If he leaves, it would likely be for Geelong over any other team.

And Cotchin going to Hawthorn is just silly. He would seriously need to fear for his life, jumping ship as a Richmond captain

Is the OP aware that clubs must pay minimum 95% of the salary cap currently? Further changes to overall payments taking effect from next year. Hence hawks have front loaded some contracts for 2014/15, but make no mistake they are targeting a massive fish in the 2015 off season

What you've just said, is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to ANYTHING that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

LOL, the maths is indeed very basic with Sydney.
Seriously. It's been explained a thousand times. If other clubs don't manage their list as well as we do, it's not our fault, nor our problem.

On BF, all Swans fans hear is paranoid, persecutionist, downright loopy rants about some alleged massive free ride the AFL gives us.

In the real world i.e. the world where the professionals who actually run footy clubs dwell, many clubs' directors say that Sydney's management in all respects is something they want their club to emulate.

But if you want to continue to wallow in myopic, pessimistic claptrap rather than ask yourself what your admirable, and respected, but persistently underachieving club can learn from the Swans example, that's your choice.

Touched a raw nerve there? We can all 'manage' a lot better with an extra 9.8% ;). Pretty funny to see Sydney posters boasting their 'better management'.
