Defending champion Andy Roddick survived an early scare against fellow American Robby Ginepri before booking his place in the third round with a 6-7(6), 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Still to come on day three, French Open champion Rafael Nadal takes on Swedish veteran Jonas Bjorkman in his opening match, while Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic faces Roko Karanusic.

Hewitt just defeated Malisse 6-3, 6-2. :thumbsu: Kei Nishikori won today and will face Nadal next, assuming he wins. That would be an interesting match.

How this isn't a Masters Series event is beyond me. Look at the draw, it is stacked just like it is every year and the tournament has a great tradition.

Exactly one of the best tournaments outside of Grand Slams most tennis fans always think of Queens Club during the lead up to Wimbelton more so than any other lead up tournament.

Another great field interesting to see Roger playing in Germany this week. Roddick and Hewitt have both had success here in the past and Nadal will be out to show he can switch from clay to grass as well as anyone.

Should be a great Tournament my tip at this stage is Roddick.

Neishikori goes down to Nadal meaning that all top 8 seeds are through to the quarter finals execpt Henri-Matheiu who went down to Number 11 seed Lleyton Hewitt.

Hewitt V Djockovic should be good match but I think Novak will pip him in three.

Roddick V Murray also looks like being a cracker with the winner likley to play Nadal in the semi.

What round did Hewitt make last year?
Lost to Tsonga in the first round. I remember all the negative press at the time, turns out it wasn't such a bad loss. But I guess Tsonga has vertually disappeared since the Australian Open, as expected...

At least Hewitt got some points after losing some at French Open.

Tsonga is injured.

Novak Djokovic d. David Nalbandian 6-1, 6-0.

Rafael Nadal d. Andy Roddick 7-5, 6-4.

Rafa is very good on grass! Will be a huge threat at Wimbledon once again and his game on the grass seems to be improving greatly with each year. Final is at 6am on Foxtel. I'll have to IQ it but surely they'll show a replay at a more suitable time.
