first week of finals is the last home and away round for the premier comp and de la premier play st bernards who are on the bottom of the premier division ladder meaning de la might drop back a few guns!!!

any predictions for outcomes?

News on the de la squad, most likely 9 players will return to the premier team from both TAC cup and seniors. This ofcourse means 9 players are to be dropped to the South 2 team. It is fair to assume 4 or 5 of these players will be fringe, while the other 4 or 5 will be legitimate premier players who r just unlucky to miss out. Replace the de la 2's worst 9 players with these 9 and your looking at a more than decent outfit, however still 5 -6 goals behind monash i believe. Can challenge Ajax and should dispose of hampton first round of finals, shaping up to be a cracking finals series!

With reference to De La dropping players back for the first final while Premier plays Rd.18, I'm of the belief there are rules in place that won't allow Premier players to be dropped back for the finals unless they have qualified. Once both sides are playing finals footy then provided both sides are in the finals, anything goes in relation to selection.
The point of the TAC players will be moot come finals as they'll need to qualify. You'd think this will upset the balance in that Rd.18 Premier/1st semi final South 2 weekend as those making way in the Premier team will most likely not have qualified for the South 2 side.

i heard parkdales star ruckman of the early 2000's came back for the hampton game, was good to see tim mathews back to his natural magical game surely cant be long till his first senior game since he was 15

i have the correct numbers for de la
5 players who r qualified for both teams
3 TAC cup players who r qualified and playing at the moment
1 to come back the the premier side through injury either this week or the next
3 playing seniors who will play premier finals

by my calculations this means first round of finals de la will have either 5 or 6 players coming down, and round 2 of finals shoudl they get there they will possibly have 10! I think a full strength de la squad like the one we will see round 2 of the finals series could prove to do anything!

yes the rumour was the man that was 6'4 at 15 years old and 5'10 at 19 years old was back in action..

de la are maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad at footy.. played sweet against an understrength parkdale side with 0 senior players returning the other week

Hampton's guns:

find it odd that every1 goes on about hampton's thuggish ways....while a different club was warned by the league if they did not settle down, they would get kicked out....

mate...i don't know if anyone told you but the Altona industrialists dont play 19' South 2.

trust me...that team both exists and got kicked out

I think we have established that Bentleigh and Hampton are not liked on this forum. Time to get over it and move on

For me the top 4 is set and as previously mentioned Monash will win the flag defeating AJAX, DLS to finish 3rd and Hampton 4th.

Overall the standard of South 2 has not been to bad this year, despite a few one sided results it would be fair to say the footy has top notch

Thoughts???

Very true bgs. Hampton were just lucky they had such an adequate replacement for this gun fullback on the weekend.

i didnt know being considered a gun was having three goals being kicked on you in two quarters? gee wat a gun. p.s the guy that got knocked out wasnt much of a gun either......just another one of hamptons wanna be toughnuts...

Yeah, there was a bit of a gap between the top 4 and the rest, or even the top 5-6 and the rest. At least the games between the lower sides were close, and had some good footy.

Tigers beat Bentleigh last time, so should take a little bit of condfidence into the game. Everyone gives em crap for being thugs but last time we played them they didnt seem that bad, Hampton were far worse.

Lol, 9.30 start. What is this!

able to gather from a couple of results involving parkdale that they have a number of gun players who are consistly playing at the top level rather than 19's... one week knocking of de la (no easy going regardless of how many outs dls has) before getting... well, slaughtered by hampton.

correct?

shall be interesting to see how the fortunes of all sides will change next year, given that many players from all teams will not come within the required age bracket, along with promotions to higher divisions.

As he was knocked out 5-10 minutes into the 1st quarter how could you know if he was a gun or not? Exactly, you've got no idea. Also, how is he a wanna be toughnut if he went back with the flight and copped an accidental knee in the back of his head. Your are an idiot.

Last time Hampton played St. Bede's people only got injured in part of the game type incidents not any dirty play. Obviously you share the view of your female manager/supporter, that had no idea about the game, that because players were hurt it meant that Hampton was dirty- bit stupid really.

saw that game between hampton n st bedes, talk about being thugs...the one thing i saw was st bedes' fat ruckman, stomping a hampton player when he was on the ground....granted a couple hampton players retaliated (understandable)....eventually not much happened as the people involved got back to the game...
...but certaintly showed that there are those out there who can play fowl...and its not always hampton

I watched Hampton VS Ajax a few weeks ago.... Hampton played it tough but fair..I do not think there are any issues with their players...
their supporters?? that is another issue.....
