Pretty sure he offered to sit on the board or do an assistant role so that his sons who were in their teens at the time could be considered for father son. The AFC scoffed at this stupid idea and said don't bother afaik.

Absolutely not, the guy is and A grade tosser, most other teams players don't even like him either. He is not exactly a "good bloke" on or off the field.

I would venture to say if both of the Cornes boys had have been picked up by us then 99% of Crows fans would have been rapt in the outcome regardless of CC arrogance & his version of a high class tosser.

Plus you could throw in a one Warren Tredrea in amongst that mix as well

Great post and agree, Kane is a great footy player and has the personality to match, Chad HUGE MEH, mention Chad Cornes and TOOL is the first thing that comes into my head I wouldnt want one of the most hated footballers in SA anywhere near the AFC.

That's what I remember too however, I was under the impression that it was Cornes himself that said no to the idea (as he felt they were just using him to get his sons rather than for what he could offer personally) but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Chad is defintiely an A grade toss pot, however if he was a Crow from the start then we'd all be wearing his number. And football fans love to rally behind those regarded as w***ers by others, wear it as a badge of honour. Plus if he was under Craigy, that arrogant bull$#it would not be tolerated. It gets encouraged at Port - just look at Williams.

Kane would be a great fit at Adelaide. Good work effort and team player.

I dont know how anyone cant see the chad cornes demeanor is put on. He so badly over compensates with it that its not funny. If he was at the crows he would be far less like that.

i am a dead set bay supporter and when the two lads ended up at port and because their father was our old coach and a tiger great i could nothelp myself wanting them to play good whilst the mob down the road got a flogging. but as the time wore on you just couldnt bear the sight of chad cornes. he is a great player,with out doubt the greatest the power have had imho but what a tool. be humble chad, don bradman and andrea aggasi come to mind,great sportsman but very humble.

Exactly its just choco's way of 'getting the best' out of players. Hes basically just taken c. cornes' lack of confidence and turned it around that way, a bit like w.carey did.
