Can someone please tell me how the BFL team was put together?
There were players playing that would not even get a game in a decent senior side so how can they play rep footy.
Also can someone please tell me how Jezza Edwards got best he was beaten by his opponent and turned the ball over all day.

These combined games are a waste of time and only risk getting players injured _ and for what. Sure it's a feather in their cap but what's the use if they do a hammy and can't play for their own club next week?
That said, the BFL will learn from this that they just can't keep selecting the big names over good, fast young relatively unknown players who just ran them off their feet all day.
We already know that the Jordans and the Edwards of this world are top players. Their records show that.
Why keep trying to squeeze more out of them in unnecessary games.
Pick some of the young guns who can show us the future of Ballarat football _ not the past.

Yeah great point- leave out edwards and Jordan and automatically lose 35 touches out of the middle and 14 scoring shots.. That is sure to be a successful solution. You pick your best players- or dont play. Nobody should be picked from Sebas or Bacchus Marsh and that isn't because of my personal dislikes of both clubs, they simply dont have a player that would be in Darley or Sunbury's top 8. Interleague games are simply an excuse for league representatives to pat each other on their bulging poopers and tell each other how good they are going. The two sides that played on the weekend are so far off leagues like the Geelong league that it isnt funny.

Darley are the team that stood out as premership favourites haha
capey to slow beaten by a 40 year old
tuddy had 8 goals kicked on him
cheevers running around like the tim man scared to bend over in case he pops a hammy
magill good effort
miller dominated the first half then he came out after half time in a 48 year old body ?
and the star urch pulled out ??
any wonder the swooper was walking around the ground with a smile
maybe the devils may need to put there stars on ice for a month as its not even half way yet and they are spent ??

19 was Robbie Gregg, he deserved to be there. Cheevers was given 8 min bursts for some reason, is a clearance machine, and the coaching staff apologised after the game to him. Tuddy had no where near 8 kicked on him, and he isn't a true backman anyway. Redans J. Edwards chopped up the ball like no one i've seen, but he was not on his own there, disposal was 3rd rate by all.
Not only a disgraceful effort by selectors, but an even worse one by the coaches. Dion Miles??? give me a spell, embarrassing as a speaker. In short, BFL Interleague process, selection, and coaches = PATHETIC.

Unfortunately darley rat the whole interleague situation is a farce now days. We didnt even have a game this wknd as the hampden league pulled out due to finances apprently. Even tho the game was to be staged in warnambool. Top players from any league who have played a higher level dont wanna play interleague coz it doesnt mean anything anymore.

I blame the vcfl for this. If they hadn't of bought in the ridiculous round robin format a few years ago then maybe interleague would mean something to the players in each league. I know before this new format came in we (gfl) would nearly always have all our top players wanting to play coz everyone knew if we could beat the o&m we'd have the reputation as the strongest country league in victoria. But who would wanna play 3 40 minute games over a wknd? and how can it honestly decide who's the best when the game's are so short. Vcfl created this farce and now i think interleague may just become a thing of the past much the same as the state of origin which is a shame.

How can Dion Miles be selected as an assistant coach when he is clearly the worst performing coach in our league. He has spent up big for no success, no development and clearly no upcoming joy. The Bacchus Marsh supporters are falling away, the bank balance is falling away and Dions waisteline is far from falling away. ".

The only thing that was wrong with the BFL team is it was made up of players that are chokers in big games.

Miller kicked 1 goal 6 choker

Darley players in Cape, tuddy, cheevers are as slow as turtles. Even KA would catch them and he is fat and useless. Again (after last years loss in the GF) young legs have shown them up.

By the way KA swooper said the only role you ever were good enough to have at richmond big timer was changing the toilet rolls.

Agree. Round robin was mickey mouse and didnt mean anything. The biggest issue and reason behind sub standard interleague teams is $$$$. Why pull your ring out of shape for the jumper when you can get paid to do this next week.

Its not only an issue in BFL, GV have had the same thing happen. O&M cleaned them up nicely yesterday but many would have expected that based on the fact O&M trained 4 weeks leading up to the game. GV's team was also 2nd rate but you only beat what you play.

Second rate teams are picked because a few years ago it was also if you didnt play interleague you didnt play the next week's game either. Enforced by the VCFL who havent helped the concept.
You found out who was really hurt using this method and most players didnt have a choice.

In fact, there are probably a few who are glad we lost, serves the head office right for thinking our league is better than it actually is, and for thinking they are football administrators sent from heaven.

Earlier this year, he pulled the boots on for a Bushfire Relief exhibition match between the BFL and Bendigo Bombers VFL side. He kicked 3 goals that day as well.
Only Ron Best on 1624 has kicked more than Oliver’s 1021 goals in the history of the Bendigo FL.
....and maybe you blokes in the "New West" should start your own football league and quit bitching about a comp that you obviously despise and have an inherent hatred of.

When posting on our page please use the correct font. When I use Microsoft Word I prefer Arial 11, however big footy is set to Verdana 2, not the best choice, but thats Ok, as long as the fontage is consistent.

As for the interleague stuff - who gives a crap. Players who will be in the Ballarat Team of the year played games to see who could use the worse excuse not to play. Some of them were fanatastic. If you honestly think this is a true indictation of where the leagues are at your kidding yourself. But seeing as Storm has won 1 game you go and celebrate interleague as it you have little else - that is why we feel bad for Shaggy as this was his chance to celebrate a win.

A big congratulations to Steven Oliver on his 4 goal return to the game. It was quickly followed by a short labour and the twins he was carrying were delivered. Any man who can carry twins and still kick four deserved the medal in my eyes.. Estrogen and lactating breasts are not a desirable trait to associate with football and Steve did very well to combine it all..

Gissy did for the Bendigo League what Sunba, Darley, South and Melton did for the Ballarat League. Just say thanks, enjoy the level of footy this week and be on your way. You may not have much longer to enjoy it.

Not redan rat? I think redan might be able to do some damage if they make it. I'd be suggesting to sides don't rate redan during the home/away season!
