OLD XAV'S - Always a strong chance and shouldn't lose too many except maybe Fleming. Some stars are aging but seem to have great blend of experience and youth.

DLS - One year older and one would expect a little stronger in 2010. The young brigade will be hungry for success and if they can find a recruit or two will certainly challenge again

St Bedes - word is that they may lose some prime movers in 2010 and will need the kids to step up to another level to fill the void. Has some talented kids so will be competive.

Uni Blues - Some aging old timers on this list but have great depth(ressies premiers and under 19 prelim) will push for a finals berth again.

Old Scotch - Will spruik early and recruit everything that moves but again will lack any real substance. Supporting them would be as frustrating as being a Richmond supporter.

Old Brighton - Big Sinclair gone back to Caulfield I believe. Spriggs chasing $$$ and will need to find some character form somewhere during pre season to impress on A grade in 2010.

Marcellin - New Coach Paul Dudd will have his work cut out here. A serious lack of start quality on it's list and nothing to come through from the juniors. Early tip for relegation.

Old Trinity - Should join Marcellin.

Old M's - Will be a force in 2010 and push for finals. great way to come up a grade with four flags in one season. Will be primed for a big one.

Collegians - depends on the Fergus really. Will he or won't he. Time will tell if the rest of the list has can support him and really press for a finals berth. My guess is that they may struggle, Mooney and Co not getting any younger and don't know if their young brigade is really A grade quality at this stage.

Watts not playing another season he made that clear at the end of last year ad with regards to Mooney played the first few games of the year and didn’t play after that so you can’t base your predictions on that.. A lot of younger blokes coming up and some ring-ins which will hopefully make Coll a very competitive side this year!!

Actually, Mooney did not play a senior game last season before retiring due to persistent injury, so is not a consideration in forecasting form for next season.

I believe the oldest senior player for Collegians last season was Arnott who played just 5 games (due to itchy feet!), and the rest are all under 30, so that tells me that the squad is young but already experienced with a good hard season under the belt.

Fergus played just the 9 games (half of those up the field), so the reliance is not all on Ferg to be a top 4 side.

My apologies i meant to say Mooney played a few games in the reserves! A large portion of the senior heads are mid to late 20's.
